The school bell rang; a signal for me to grab my books and run to the door before anyone else could. I flailed my arms to the back as I ran, channeling my inner Naruto, not minding the stares and the laughs.
"Go, Naruta!" cheered the volleyball men's team as I passed by them while they were doing they're afternoon warm-ups.
"Braylee! Baka madapa ka na naman!" a janitor screamed as he raised and pointed his mop towards my direction.
Eventually, I got to our favorite gazebo just in time to see Piper and Riley doing their favorite past time--stealing glances over the soccer players of Filimon University as they were playing on the field.
"Naglalaway na naman kayo," biro ko kay Piper sabay upo sa bilugang mesa at patong ng mga paa ko sa upuan.
"Emanuel, 'wag bumukaka, nakakasuka!" pasaring ni Riley sa akin sabay patong ng jacket niya sa hita ko. Nakalimutan kong nakasuot nga pala ako ng denim button-down skirt.
"You're such a gentleman, kaya love na love kita eh," biro ko kay Riley sabay kindat dahilan para umarte siya na para bang nasusuka. Ang cute talaga ng baklitang 'to pag nag-iinarte! I stared at Riley's face lovingly and showed my sweetest smile. "Sana tayo nalang," I joked while making my voice more dramatic and convincing. I saw nothing but horror on Riley's face. The pimples on his forehead looked like it was about to pop out of disgust and annoyance over what I just said.
"Braylee Emanuel tamaan ka sana ng kidlat diyan sa pinagsasabi mo! Kadiri kang babae ka! Pareho tayong lalake ang hanap! Gaga!" buong lakas na bulalas ni riley at umarte na naman na para bang nasusuka. Kainis, ang pogi talaga ni Riley! Ang neat niyang manamit tapos boy next door talaga ang datingan. Sa unang tingin, hindi talaga halatang bakla si Riley. Nahahalata lang kapag nagsasalita na siya.
I looked over at Piper's direction and she was already laughing her ass out; her cheeks red and back hunched over the table. See this is why I like teasing Riley... it always makes Piper laugh like crazy.
Piper sighed as she got a grip of herself. She took out a handkerchief from the pocket of her dress but instead of using it on herself, she stood right in front of me and wiped the sweat on my forehead. "You're such a Mom!" I jokingly yelled. Piper's only 21, two years older than me, but she acts so mature for her age.
