The Capital was filled with more people than usual; both Hylians and Amadahians. This was due to the fact that, every year during the summer, a Summer Harvest Festival was held. People would come in from different villages to sell fresh vegetables, fruits, organic goods, and more. The festival went on for two days. Two days Link wasn't wanting to spend walking around the streets.

Since it was a harvest event, there was no doubt someone from his old village would be there with their own stand at the time. The last thing he wanted was to run into anyone from the village who might question him on his life in the Capital. Luckily for him, he had the chance to spend the day with (Y/n).

Like always, she wore an causal outfit and sunglasses to help hide her identity from anyone walking around at such busy time. With such a large event going on, chances are the royal family made it a must for (Y/n) to have Liam go with her when going to visit the nest of all the actives and strange people, so Link wasn't shock to see the knight being with her when he was.

At the moment, the two sat at the meadow tree, finding it better to spend their time together in the outer fields that the crazy Capital. Liam stayed farther behind, sitting in the long green grass of the field, facing the Capital walls. (Y/n) had asked him if he'd like to come sit with them, however, the knight shook his head.

"You came here to spend time with Link. I simply tagged along to make sure nothing happens to you while in the Capital. The fields are always safer," was his response. Link couldn't help but think he felt like an awkward third-wheel, though, he never said anything about it.

From all the times he's seen or talked to Liam, he had learned a few things about him. Liam was an organized person, he was also on the quieter side, and he was extremely loyal to Princess (Y/n). Over all, he fit the quiet, Knight of Honor spot very well.

"How does the festival work? Does you father set everything up as far as jobs and where things are at?" Link asked, leaning against one of the trees, his eyes focused on the blue sky above.

"Usually, but this year, he split the work with Ethan," (Y/n) explained, sitting next to the Hylian, her eyes also on the sky.

"Does Ethan do a lot of work?"

"Lately, yes. He's always off working on something or doing some kind of paper work. The work father gives him are like test in a way, at least, that's what Ethan told me. Father wants to make sure he can handle different tasks, after all, Ethan will become the ruler after father," (Y/n) laughed," imagine Ethan as king. He'd be exactly like father."

Link frowned at her words, thinking about King Adrian. Sure, Ethan could defiantly pass as a younger version of the King as far as looks, however, just look at the things King Adrian has done in his time of ruling!

King Adrian has been king for the last 27 years. He was the one who took over Hyrule, he was the one who destroyed Aria with a flick of his finger when it's people stood against him...He's the one who caused Hylians to lose their place in the world and fear life! How could Hylian kind survive another king like that?

"Are you alright? You've gone pale," Link snapped out of it at the sound of (Y/n)'s voice, looking to her. She stared at him, clearly concerned.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine...only thinking..."

"About~?"

"Nothing," (Y/n) titled her head, frowning.

"You wouldn't look so sick if it was simply nothing. You acted like that when I mentioned Ethan becoming king. Is there something wrong with my brother as a king?" She sounded hurt when asking that which only made Link feel bad.

"There's nothing wrong with your brother being king," He shook his head, directing his eyes away from the Princess," you said he'd be 'exactly' like your father...Your father hasn't been the greatest to Hylians..."

(Y/n) sat up straight, going quiet for a moment before speaking silently," that is true, isn't it? I don't think Ethan will be exactly like my father. I bet he'll be more understand and kinder to Hylians."

Link couldn't help but notice how she sounded almost unsure. Did (Y/n) not believe Ethan would be any different or was it she didn't think her father was a good person?

"I-I wasn't saying your father is a bad person or anything. I've noticed your father goes to great lengths to protect his people. He's a good king-"

"-You don't have to lie if you think I'd be mad. I wouldn't blame you if you hated him," (Y/n) pulled her knees to her chest, looking down," my father was the one who took over Hyrule. If it wasn't for him, Hylian's would have more freedom than they do now. You guys wouldn't have to fear Amadahians like you do now."

There was a moment of silence after she said that. Link wanted to disagree, but what would he say? The King has taken away the freedom of Hylians, he couldn't deny that at all.

"You know...there are still some good things that have happened after Hyrule was taken over..."

"Like what?" (Y/n) asked, slowing looking up at the male who smiled softly.

"Well, my parents first met during the time of war. If my mother wouldn't have had to leave her home village to seek shelter at my father's, chances are they would've never met and I wouldn't have been born. On top of that, you and I would've never met ourselves," he pointed out, his cheeks dusted pink," sure, things are ruff and not always fair, we both have to keep seeing each other a secret after all, but it's still amazing to spend time with you and be friends. I wouldn't trade this time we have for the world."

(Y/n)'s eyes were wide when hearing such words, though, she slowly found herself smiling," I enjoy the time we have together, too, so much that I'd give up my crown and heir to the throne just to spend a few more minutes with you."

The two stared into each other's eyes, laughing. The time they had was a true gift. For all of (Y/n)'s life, she's only been able to be friends with Amadahians that her father approved of. Haft the time, they were much other than her that or plain stuck up. The only friend she's had for the longest of time was Liam. As for Link, he's only ever had Amber. Neither had felt such feelings with their other friends. It was a feeling that couldn't be explained in simple words alone.

Maybe that's why they both leaned closer without really realizing. Maybe that's why their lips met and neither moved away to prevent it. They simply melted into the kiss, wrapping their arms around each other while enjoying the beautiful moment they had.

Liam watched with emotionless eyes, turning to face the other way after the two's lips first met. He closed his eyes, trying to ignore what was going on behind him and the fact that his heart ached with a great pain.

He told himself over and over again from the day he first met Link that (Y/n) was going to love the Hylian more than she ever did him. He knew from day one he had lost her yet still, he felt like his heart was just ripped out of his chest by seeing them kiss. No matter how much he wanted to deny it, he'd give his life to be in Link's place for just a second...
