"They should be returning any day now judging on their letter," Aeshia explained, enjoying the view of the sunset through the hall windows with Liam by her side, following her gaze as if he was supposed to see something other than golden clouds which, he would admit, were very beautiful.

"How do we know this little group is of real importance and not just some little gang with no true power?" Liam questioned.

"We don't."

"Huh?" He looked to the Queen in shock," then what's the point?"

"The point is to test a theory; to make a leap of faith unless you consider a gut feeling good evidence," Aeshia met his eyes and set a hand on his arm," I refuse to make any heavy decisions without being aware of several options. If I am to get involved, I am to know the battle ground. You, being a knight and all, must understand in some way."

"...Of course," Liam frowned, still doubting her words slightly.

"If there's nothing else I am needed for, I think I'll head back to my chambers. The last few days have been busy and have granted little sleep. I believe you should also rest. You're beginning to get bags under your eyes," she lightly ran a finger under his eye, smirking as he took her hand and pulled it away, but smiling, nonetheless.

"I've went longer without sleep."

"As have I, but it is not a good habit to get into. Goodnight, Liam," Aeshia waved, walking towards her chambers as Liam returned the gesture.

"Goodnight, Your Highness."

The knight sighed, walking down the hall and turning the corner only to run into someone. He stumbled back a step, apologizing before looking at the other male, turning pale," L-Link. How long have you been standing here?"

"I just got here," Link assured him, holding his hands out and frowning with worry at his friend," are you alright? You look like you've seen a ghost. I'm not that scary, right?"

Liam laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his head and silently thanking his lucky star Link hadn't heard Aeshia and himself talking about Amadahy," no, not at all. You just caught me off guard. Usually these halls seem pretty empty. I thought it was just Aeshia and I- um..."

"So, you were with the Queen? (Y/n) said something about that, but I thought she was making things up," Link walked along side Liam, the two heading back to their rooms in which were in the same direction as each other.

"What do you mean?" Liam raised an eyebrow. The Princess had asked earlier if he had plans for the night when he mentioned Aeshia wanting to speak with him. Why would she go telling Link that, though?

Link looked the other way, a bit embarrassed," w-well, um, (Y/n) thinks...I guess she thinks there's something romantic going on between Aeshia and yourself."

Liam turned a shade of red, stopping in his tracks and saying a little too loudly," What!? W-Why would she think that?"

"In all honestly, you two do spend a lot of time together. (Y/n) thinks it's because you two are secretly dating or whatever." Link admitted, stopping and facing the knight before confirming," I'm not saying I believe it or anything, I know you like...moving on, I guess it is kinda random how much time you guys spend together. You're always off talking alone and, well, it must be important if you get the Queen alone so much. Aren't they supposed to be super busy?"

Liam bit his lip, trying to think of a good lie.

He couldn't say it was completely nothing because Link had a point yet if he said it was something important, Link might ask what and exactly how many lies can he keep throwing out before the truth is discovered? 'Sorry I never told you, but Amadahy is at war and Aeshia and I are discussing ways to fix it because only us, Aatto, and her spies know'....yeah, that would go well...

"W-Well, I...Can you, um, keep a secret?"

"Sure?" Link nodded, eyeing Liam suspiciously.

The male took in a breath, fully aware his words would come back and bite him later," I do like Aeshia."

"You actually do?" Link stopped in his tracks and blinked in disbelief, not expecting (Y/n) would be right. Don't get him wrong, he wanted Liam to be able to move on and find love, but he was sure by the way he liked (y/n) before that it would at least be awhile until that happened.

"Y-Yep," Liam nodded, putting on his best smile," I've gotten to know her at lot since my arrival and I've fallen in love."

"Does...Does she know?"

"No-and I don't plan on telling her at the moment. She's pretty busy right now, like you said. I don't want to give her more to worry about, you know?" Liam explained quickly," please don't tell anyone, Link. I-I don't want to ruin this."

Liam's heart hammered against his chest, his mind swirling with different consequences that would come with this lie. He didn't think Aeshia would be worried about it much, after all, it was better than the actual truth coming out. His worry was if Link told anyone. The lie would get out of hand then, no doubt.

Link must have saw the desperate plea in Liam's eyes because he smiled reassuring, holding out his hands," hey, don't worry. I won't tell anyone, you have my word."

Liam sighed gratefully, for once smiling truthfully," I'm really going to owe you for all of these secrets your keeping for me..."

"Think of it as me repaying my debt to you. You've done plenty for me lately, it's time I start making it up," Link chuckled, the two reaching Liam's room first where they bid each other goodnight before he went on to his own room.

When Liam closed the door, he immediately collapsed on his bed, exhaling as if he had been holding his breath for ages. Perhaps he would've began to worry over his 'crush' on the Queen if not for the fact that there were worst matters to occupy his thoughts.

War was in the air back in his home and it wasn't going to go away anytime soon. Aeshia's spies were gathering as much information as possible, although, it was hard for them to get close to those with the true say-so in the battle. Both sides were so wary of each other and they weren't about to trust just anyone who pledged allegiance to know their real plans. And, to make it all so much better, another group mysterious group had gotten involved...When will whatever Goddesses above have mercy on that land?
