As they disappeared everything returned back to normal in an instant, it was like the blinding light and swirling whirlpool was never there.

Jiang could see nothing but darkness as he was sent into the swirling whirlpool, even the little eunuch's location was undetermined but Jiang could hear his screams, the little eunuch sounded really terrified, they kept spinning around and all they could see was darkness with a tiny white spot at the front of them, it was so tiny that it was almost unnoticeable.
Jiang thought that was their passage way out of the spinning whirlpool but no matter how forward they were pushed by the pressure from the whirlpool they never seemed to get close to that tiny white spot.
"Empress elect save me, save this your lowly servant" the little eunuch kept screaming for his life, he didn't realize that it wasn't the empress elect duty to save him at all, it wasn't even his place to ask the empress elect to save him.
"Nothing is going to happen to you here" Jiang assured the little eunuch but the little guy couldn't hear a thing since his loud screams covered every other sound .
To Jiang every moment now was important to him and he felt something special about this place so he decided to close his eyes and cultivate his magic despite the fact that it was a bit troublesome since he kept spinning in cycles.
Jiang shut everything out including the screams coming from the little eunuch, he knew they were safe here and there was no way they were going to lose their lives as they passed through the gateway leading them from the imperial palace to the main palace so he was at ease.
As Jiang closed his eyes and settled his mind he could feel his space ring tremble like it was excited, not so long ago when Jiang strength increased he had discovered something peculiar about the space ring.
Jiang discovered that in the space ring time flowed differently, a day outside was equivalent to fifty days inside the space ring and now the space ring time ability seems to be evolving again.
Jiang was super excited about this because this was one of the key things he planned on using in increasing his strength as quickly as possible before the competition starts, if he cultivated in his space ring then it will save him a lot of effort.
Jiang settled his mind again and tried to perceive his air element so as to increase his mana in his core, mana was important to cultivators because not only do they use it to defend or attack, it was also used to breakthrough levels.
Cultivators saved mana in their core for two reasons.
A cultivators core region is divided into two halves, each half serves it's own purpose, In the first core half mana was stored to be use to control magic while the second core half mana was stored to breakthrough levels, it was easier to store mana in the first half than the second half but once the mana in the second half was full the cultivator could breakthrough levels and then start saving mana all over again for the same reason, it was an endless cycle and the higher once strength is the more difficult it is to accumulate mana but to cultivators this was a bridge they had to cross.
