Alyssa refused to think about the end of everything until she was sure not to see them again

Alyssa refused to think about the end of everything until she was sure not to see them again. Her final day was on Friday but she had come to the hard decision not to tell them until Sunday.

She didn't have the strength or guts to tell them in person so did what she thought to be the worst thing ever.

The type of thing that she'd read about in magazines.

She sent them a text.

At least it would make them hate her even more and hopefully, forget about her.

Alyssa told them that she would be moving houses, due to her father's work. She told them that it was in the US, and that she was already on the flight.

And they believed her.

Of course they would.

Alyssa hated how she knew that she was playing with their trust. She didn't want to take advantage of how they would believe her effortlessly but she did.

They trusted her so much that they didn't even think to check her house to see if she was still in there.

Alyssa cried uncontrollably that night. She didn't care if her parents heard her. She didn't care if anybody did. Alyssa didn't want to die. But she couldn't help it. She couldn't help causing everybody pain. She couldn't help hurting everybody.

She wished she could.

Alyssa would never know that that night three other people also sobbed their hearts out.

She wasn't the only one with crystals rolling down her face.

Three other people cried when they heard that Alyssa would be moving without even saying goodbye. She would never know how much they would miss her.

Alyssa begged her parents not to tell any of them and after seeing the state of her, they agreed. She lay curled up in bed, wishing that she had stayed the loner in the first place.

Although she didn't like to admit it, when she was alone, Alyssa didn't mind it. She didn't hate the idea of dying. It was perfectly fine to her yet now, it was completely different.

Over the next week, she stayed trapped in her bedroom, refusing to associate with the outside world. Alyssa isolated herself and prepared herself. She no longer replied to any of their calls or attempt to talk. They tried again and again to break down the wall she had built, coming up with all sort of plans but Alyssa ensured that she shut them down.

Brianna was the only one that persisted. But slowly, she too was cut off. Alyssa mentally prepared herself to leave.

She preferred the word leave to die. To her, it sounded more graceful and angelic as supposed to the latter. It gave her the image that a set of wings would hook onto her back, allowing her to fly away and watch them from above.

-xXx-

Time ticked by ruthlessly, waiting for nobody. Her health had deteriorated. She was frail, feeble and had cut off all connection with everyone for sure by now. The three of them had tried again and again to talk to her, but had taken the hint after no acknowledgnement. It had been three months since she'd seen any of them. Alyssa was glad that her message of Brianna and Will had got across.

She hands trembled weakly as her finger glided over the screen of her phone. Taking a deep breath, she flicked on William Harvey's profile to see a picture of Brianna.

He had realised how desperately Alyssa wanted him to get with Brianna and had decided to comply. Part of him felt that if he did what she had wanted, Alyssa would grab the next flight and return. He knew that surviving on false hope wasn't going to get him anywhere but still, Will couldn't help it.

Besides, he told himself that learning to love somebody wouldn't be a big deal. How hard could it be to teach himself to love Brianna?

Alyssa weakly gasped when she saw how different she looked. Brianna had taken of her glasses, replacing them with contacts and dyed her hair brown slightly creating an ombré effect. She had grown taller and the prom dress that she was seen trying on, hugged her figure beautifully.

The nerd and golden boy.

They looked perfect.

The nerd and golden boy.

Alyssa's eyes twinkled as they glued themselves to the screen. She flicked through his profile to see numerous pictures of Brianna on his profile and pictures of Will on hers. Alyssa sighed contently, before freezing when she caught sight of something.

Brianna Cooper - In a relationship

Hesitantly, she tapped on the tag to read a name of whom she was talking about.

William Harvey.

William Harvey
