"I'll wager the sun is on the rise," Bofur says "Must be nearly dawn."
Hearing this gives you a hint that others that had fallen asleep have woken up.
"We're never gonna reach the mountain, are we?" Ori wonders aloud
"Not stuck in here, you're not," Bilbo says from nowhere
You perk up at the sound of his voice, rushing to the front of your cell.
"Father!" You shout happily
"Bilbo!" Balin shouts in the same tone
Others begin to cheer but are soon shushed by Bilbo.
"Shh! There are guards nearby!" Bilbo whisper-shouts
As soon as your cell is unlocked, you hug Bilbo tightly and give him a bright smile. A smile of which he returns then brings his attention back to the others as they started to go up some stairs.
"Not that way," Bilbo whisper-shouts "Down here. Follow me."
Bilbo then starts going down a set of stairs. You and everyone else quickly follow in a single line, being as quiet as you all can. The stairs go deep, deep down. Everything carved from stone.
A few minutes of walking down the stairs, you reach an area with barrels stacked. As the group reaches the bottom, there are a few Elf men slumped, asleep at a table. Empty glass bottles litter the middle of the table, causing you to assume that they drank the wine that was once within them.
"This way," Bilbo whispers, leading everyone past the sleeping Elves "Come on."
"I don't believe it," Kili whispers behind you "We're in the cellars!"
"You were supposed to be leading us out, not further in!" Bofur whispers to Bilbo
"I know what I'm doing!" Bilbo retorts then is shushed by Bofur
"This way! This way!" Bilbo whispers "Everyone climb into the barrels quickly."
"Are you mad?" Dwalin asks, walking up to Bilbo "They'll find us."
"No, no," Bilbo whispers "They won't, I promise you. Please, please. You must trust me."
"And what are your thoughts?" Dwalin asks you as you stand beside Bilbo
"I follow him," You say
Dwalin then turns and speaks to the others. Bilbo looks to Thorin for help, seeing as there's no way he could convince them.
"Do as he says," Thorin whispers to everyone
Then, as if they had no problem with it. Everyone springs into action, quietly shuffling into the barrels. But as others got in, you realized there aren't enough for you and Bilbo. As you looked around, you hear someone call out to you.
"(Y/N)," Kili whispers "There's enough space in here if you'd like."
You stood there for a moment looking at him. Your eyes then go over to Fili who has the same amount of room in his barrel.
"Fili," You whisper, gaining the blonde's attention "Move over a little."
Fili complies with what you say and you slide into the barrel. You roll your eyes playfully at him as he smirks down at you.
"Would've thought you would go with my brother," Fili whispers so only you can hear "But I like this better."
"Shut it," You warn lightly "I only came over here because he did something stupid that I'd rather not discuss at the moment."
Before Fili says anything else, Bofur from above you pops his head out at Bilbo.
"What do we do now?" Bofur asks
Everyone's heads, including yours, then turns to Bilbo expectantly.
"Hold your breath," Bilbo says, then pulls a lever beside him
The lever then causes the floor beneath the barrels to tilt. The barrels then roll down into a cave with a river. As your barrel rolls, you instinctively place your head into Fili's chest, gripping tight to the front of his shirt. Then as the last barrel rolls down, the floor shuts leaving Bilbo behind. You look up to where you came from. Shivering for a second at the realization of the cold water covering your body.
To wait for Bilbo, everyone grabs an edge of the wall of the cave to stop their barrels to be pushed by the current. Soon the opening, reopens, Bilbo sliding from it into the water. As he resurfaces, the one closest to him grabs him. Having Bilbo hold onto the side of their barrel.
"Well done, Master Baggins," Thorin says, to which Bilbo just waves
Thorin then encourages everyone to move quickly. Paddling down the small water passageway and push against the wall.
"Hold on!" Thorin shouts from the front
You do the same as you did before as there is another drop. You quickly wipe whatever water away you can with your hands. Once able to see, you look around. But your attention is soon caught by a horn blaring. You look to see where it's coming from. Standing beside the person who is blowing the horn, you see Legolas. Even from this distance, you can see a hard look on his face. You turn your head to see a gate leading to your freedom being closed. Your stomach sank at the sight of this. Will you be truly caught for good?
