Secrets to Unfold (Kili X Reader)

Chapter 36: Healing

    As Tauriel cleans the herbs, you and the others move Kili to the table and begin to hold him down. You're at his shoulders, only then do you realize his mouth has turned black and his deep brown eyes have hazed over.

    "Hold him down," Tauriel instructs, walking behind you

    You growl a few choice of words under your breath only Bofur hears.

    You, Fili, and Bofur do your best to hold Kili's upper-half down while Oin holds down his legs. Kili groans in pain as Tauriel grabs his injured leg to see it better for a couple of moments. She then pauses then looks at you and Fili before speaking in Elvish. As she does, Tauriel grinds the herbs between her palms then presses them to Kili's leg.

    This causes him to struggle more against everyone's hold. Bard's daughters then help in holding down Kili's legs. Tauriel continues speaking in Elvish and pressing the herbs to his leg.

    "Don't go," You whisper in Kili's ear "Please."

    Once you do this, you quickly kiss Kili's forehead. Soon after he calms down, panting heavily. Though, Kili stares at something. You follow his gaze to Tauriel who is still chanting in Elvish. Upon realizing you look away, a small look of pain in your eyes. She had been looking right at him as well.

    You step away with the others as Tauriel binds his leg. Beginning to help clean the inside, you feel someone tap your shoulder. You turn to see Bofur holding two cups of steaming liquid, tea.

    "Thank you," You say quietly as he hands you one

    "No problem," He whispers "Everything alright?"

    "Yeah," You reply with a nod "Why do you ask?"

    "C'mon lass," Bofur whispers "I've seen the way you look at him. What's stopping you?"

   "Tauriel," Kili says quietly from the table

    You both turn your heads to see Kili looking at Tauriel, who is looking back at him.

    "Lie still," She tells him with a small smile

    "You cannot be her," Kili says "She is far away. She is far, far away from me. She walks in starlight in another world. It was just a dream."

    Kili very weakly reaches for Tauriel's hand.

    "Do you think she could've loved me?" Kili asks almost desperately

    Bofur looks at you with slight pity as he realizes.

    "That's what's stopping me," You say then look at Bofur "Don't look at me like that."

    "I-I'm sorry," Bofur says so only you can hear "I didn't know. He's stupid, ya know? You're twice the woman she is. You're-"

    "Bofur," You interrupt "Thank you, but, please stop."

    "Alright," Bofur nods "I'll leave you alone then, yeah?"

    With a short nod from you, Bofur walks away to join Fili and Oin. Hushed talking could be heard from them but all noise is soon silenced as a thunderous sound comes from the mountain. Your head snaps in the direction where it came from. Hearing it as well, the others do the same as you.

    This could only mean one thing, the dragon has awoken. And with such a loud noise, it would mean he is on his way to Esgaroth. How is everyone going to get out? Especially with Kili in the condition he's in.
