Hansel and Gretel Epilogue

Years passed and Hansel kept requesting your hand but you turned him down. You couldn't return to society with the rumors going about. Hansel still persisted. Eventually you gave in but things went worse for you. People called you cruel names and spread rumors about you. You felt bad and told Hansel once. He asked for their names and within weeks, half of them disappeared. The rumors disappeared as well since you never made public appearances.

Hansel did his best to keep you happy, but you found it difficult. You were always in constant worrying. What if they grew to hate you once more? What if yoy were with child? The child would inherit all this hate and you wouldn't be able to stop it. In an effort to remedy this, you always made your self miscarry or took medicine to prevent pregnancy in hopes of avoiding that future. It was a lonely existence you lived but Hansel didn't care. You were his and his alone. That is all that mattered to him.
