You shiver inside the cellar again.  You've been stuck down here for weeks, condemned to the cold, damp basement of Malfoy Manor, listening to the screams of the Death Eater's victims.  Every day passes the same.  You wake up when the light seeps down the stairs and into the basement through the bars.  You sit and wait for a slice of bread and some vegetable broth to be slid to you under the bars by Peter Pettigrew, who you named the Rat-Man.  You would wait for hours, listening to the footsteps, so much that you knew who it was by the way they walked on the floor above.  All your day would be would be waiting and listening.  Sometimes you would hear Draco begging to see you, but his parents denying it for fear the Dark Lord would come any moment.  So you sat alone, waiting for your next scrap from the table.

One day, you wake up to the sound of a rattling at the gate.  You blink your eyes open and the gate swings towards you with a loud bang.

"D-Draco?" you mumble, seeing a tall, pale figure come forward and grab you.

"Y/n!" he gasps.  "I am so sorry, love!  I'm so sorry!  I didn't want t leave you down here, I really didn't.  My parents were afraid that-"

"Shhh, Draco," you say.  "I understand, really I do."

"Come on, y/n.  Let's get you some food.  You've gotten thinner," he says, picking you up bridal style and carrying you upstairs to the dining room.  Lucius Malfoy is already sitting there and he smiles at you.

"Y/n," he says.  "Glad to see you could join us finally.  The Dark Lord has given us the permission to let you out for the basement as long as Draco is with you.  Narcissa did everything in her power to help the cause."

Draco's mother nods and you smile back at her.

"Thank you, Mrs Malfoy," you say, taking a seat as Draco sets you down.  "I can't say that enough."

"It was no trouble.  It made Draco miserable to have you down there.  It was heartbreaking to see him.  He would walk about the manor during his breaks like a shell of a person.  I can't imagine what he was like during school.  He's truly lost without you, y/n," she says.  You look to Draco.  "The only condition is that you will have to meet with him tomorrow in person and discuss something with him.  He did not say what, though."

"Is this true, Draco?" you ask and he nods.

"Yes...  Hey, y/n?"

"Yes?"

"I love you.  It felt like a part of me was missing.  I knew they were underfeeding you, I know where you were, but I did nothing!  I'm such a coward!  I could have done something!  I don't deserve to have someone like you, y/n!" he cried, bowing his head with tears streaming down his cheeks.  You stand up and go over to him, wrapping your arms around him.

"It's alright, Draco.  Really.  You had to keep yourself safe and you did and I'm grateful for that.  Don't call yourself a coward.  You are not and remember that no matter what I will love you," you whisper to him and he nods.

"Thank you, y/n.  You are fantastic," he replies.  You sit down again and the food is served.  You sile

"Real food," you laugh.

You sigh, letting the water from the showerhead in Draco's bathroom spill all over you, letting your muscles relax.  You sigh and turn off the water after washing your hair thoroughly.  You dry yourself with one of Draco's towels and slip on Draco's large Slytherin Quidditch shirt.  You brush your teeth and walk into Draco's bedroom to see him reading, already in bed under the covers.  You smile and walk over him and sit on the bed.  You kiss him on the forehead and he grins up at you.
