Draco's POV:

Laughing along with Blaise, Theo, and the other Slytherins in my friend group, I set my fork down beside my plate.  It's the first day of the winter holidays and nobody has left yet because the carriages back to the train haven't been scheduled to leave until later and it's the last breakfast with the whole school still here until school resumes.  Theo had an idea to play a small game of truth or dare at the breakfast table.  He said we'd do nothing too serious or unreasonable.  Just some harmless fun.

"Your turn to ask someone, Crabbe," Theo says, elbowing Crabbe lightly, making him chuckle and look up at the ceiling to think.

"Ummm....  Draco..., truth or dare?" Crabbe says slowly and I look up to him.

"Dare...," I sigh.

"Let Pansy sit on your lap for the rest of breakfast."

I look over to Pansy, who is squealing along with her pack of girls, her hands over her mouth in excitement, bouncing up and down.  I roll my eyes.  I've never really liked Pansy, even though she's always been into me.  I'm not trying to be selfish, it's just that she's never actually tried to conceal her crush on me since first year and she constantly calls me her "Drakie-poo" or just simply "Drakie" as if I was already hers.

"Well, Malfoy?" Blaise says impatiently.

"Sure.  What the heck," I sigh quietly.  Pansy shrieked loudly and high pitched as if she's seen bloody murder and she bounces her way over to my side, pushing Goyle who was sitting next to me to the side roughly.  She throws her arms around me, almost choking me and sits herself down roughly on my lap.  I stir, uncomfortable under her weight and the game continues.  The dares are stupid, just as the one Crabbe dared me to do.  Pansy keeps snuggling into my chest and I pull her off fo me every time despite her complaining.

As the game attracts more attention and more players, Pansy becomes distracted and I look over at y/n because if pansy saw me looking at her, she would murder y/n first and then me.  Y/n has never been in my friend group, sadly.  She's always had her group of small close friends and she has never really been in the picture relative to the group of Slytherin boys in my year.  I've honestly always had a crush on y/n.  When I first met her, she was the only person I could see in the room and from the moment I heard her talk, I knew she was special.  Over time, my crush on her has grown exponentially and I can't stop thinking about her.  I love her laugh and how her kindness can fill the room.  I enjoy how she can smile so much and how comfortable she is with people.  I love her quirks and her determination.  Everything about her is wonderful and I've made countless cards and letters to her, confessing my feelings, but I've never sent them ever.  I keep at least one with me at all times, which is a risky move, but for that reason, I never let my school bag out of my sights and I lock my trunk with an anti-charm spell.  Some of them are enchanted with tunes or poems I write in my free time for her.  When nobody's looking, I spend my time thinking about her and drawing small doodles of what our lives could be like if we were together...

"MALFOY!" Blaise yells in my ear and I snap out of my y/n trance and look back to the group.  "Truth or dare?"

"Dare," I reply.

"Let me go through your bag, take something out of it, and do with it whatever I please," he says and my heart stops. My note for y/n is in there, along with some quills and ink.  On a regular day, I would have said yes to him looking in my bag if there were school books and materials in there, but now there is so little in it he's bound to find the note.  I feel myself get red and my cheeks go hot.
