Third Person POV:

With the Second Wizarding War over and no need to have a serious job, Draco Malfoy for the past few years has suffered from extreme boredom due to the presence of too much free time.   Now twenty-one, he spends most of his time taking walks or apparating somewhere new every day to simply get out of the house with no real motive.  He moved out of Malfoy Manor because his father wouldn't allow him back in until he got married so he's now living in New York City with the help of his father with his money, of course.

Today, Draco wanders aimlessly down the busy streets of Manhattan in search of something to do.  Unable to find much on a street, he decides to go to one of the older high-status wizarding nightclubs that Draco had never thought of going into.  Casually, he swings the door open and heads for the bar past the people carrying drinks and the waiters dressed in finely tailored uniforms.  Upon a raised platform is a black, brightly polished grand piano with a man wearing tailcoats and a female violinist standing near him.  Draco pulls out one of the chairs at the bar and a bartender comes up to him.

"Whiskey, neat," he says to the bartender, putting a couple of Dragot on the table with a small clink.  "Keep the change, mate."

The bartender nods in thanks, taking the Dragot under the counter and pours Draco his whiskey carefully into a fine, perfectly clear baccarat crystal.  Draco picks it up and downs some of it quickly.  He blinks his eyes to the side as a young woman comes and sits next to him.  She's wearing a long, black dress that goes almost to the floor with one slit up the side.  The top halter style with elegant lace.  On her wrist is a fine, diamond bracelet and her hair is tied up in an updo with a ribbon braided into it.  She isn't wearing much makeup except some lipstick and some light eyeshadow, which, in Draco's mind, compliments her natural beauty.

"I'll take the usual, Charlie," she says cooly.  The Bartender Charlie nods and goes to retrieve a glass from behind him.  The woman turns to Draco and grins at him.  "Hey, Stranger," she says and points to Draco's glass  "So... You a whiskey sorta guy?"

Blushing, Draco doesn't respond for a second.  He's too distracted by her voice.  She leans forward, trying to make sure he hard her.

"O-Oh," Draco stutters, his face flushing brighter.  "Y-Yeah.  Whiskey is my sort of drink.  I've tried other stuff, but it's never topped a good whiskey."

"Okay, Miss," Charlie says, handing her a drink made of the very same baccarat. "A very special f/d just for you."

  She skillfully takes it in one hand, and flipping some coins to the bartender, winking at him.

"Thanks, Charlie," she says with a smile.

"No problem," the bartender says back, going to serve another man who sat at the other end of the bar.  She looks over at Draco, taking a small sip of her drink.  No lipstick on the glass, Draco notices.  She must be pretty wealthy, he thinks to himself.

"So what brings you here?  I haven't seen you in before...," she says with an interested tone.  Draco straightens his tie a bit, attempting to make a good impression on the mysterious woman.

"Oh.  Just trying somewhere new," he says.  "I usually go to the one a few blocks from here.  Serenity.  Have you heard of it?" Draco says, gaining his confidence again as she nods.

"Yes, I have," she replies.  "One of the best places around, other than this wonderful establishment here.  Here is my usual.  Why have you come to The Crimson Manor tonight instead of Serenity?  You said it was your usual, after all."

"I try to change things up a bit.  Life gets too routine for me if I don't," Draco replies.  She smirks and nods her head.

"You seem like a good sort of guy with nice taste.  Y/n y/l/n," she says.

"Draco Malfoy.  It's a pleasure," Draco says, reaching out his hand.  She takes it and he lifts it up to his lips, kissing it lightly.

"Well, aren't we classy tonight?" she laughs.  He chuckles along with her as she takes another sip of her drink.  "Draco Malfoy... I swear I could have heard that name somewhere before..."

"You might have heard of me in the papers after the war.  There was this big deal about my family's hearing in the Ministry," Draco explains.

"Of course!" y/n gasps.  "You have a British accent!  I should have guessed.  One of my friends was talking about an article written in the paper!"

"Must not have made me look too good, did it?" Draco asks, feeling his chances of getting to know y/n slipping through his fingers.

"No, no.  The war is over now.  It's in the past and people change.  I believe that it's important to get to know the person in front of me rather than their past," she says, no doubt in her voice.  Draco smiles maybe he still has a chance.

"Well, thank you," he says.  "May I call you y/n?"

Y/n nods with a smile.

"So, y/n, why are you in Manhattan?" Draco asks.

~~~~~
As the night goes on, Draco and y/n move around the nightclub having drinks at the bar, then slow dancing to the violinist and the pianist for a little while, and continuing up to the rooftop lounge to watch the city go by.  Throughout the night, y/n and Draco share laughs, life stories, and their quirks.  Eventually, people begin to clear out as the clock comes up on four o'clock in the morning and Draco and y/n sit on a couch, her head resting on his shoulder.
"Y/n...," Draco whispers softly, nudging her.  "Y/n...  Are you asleep?"
Y/n stirs gently and blinks her bright eyes open looking up at Draco.  Her hair that's eventually come out of her updo falls perfectly on her shoulders.  She raises her arms up above her head and stretches, yawning quietly.
"Oops," she says.  "I dozed off a bit, I guess.  I'm terribly sorry, Draco."
"It's no problem, y/n," Draco says with a girn.  Y/n looks over at the time.
"The club is about to close, Draco," she says, handing her head.  "Thank you for a wonderful night.  I really did have fun with you."
Draco stands up and helps her to her feet from her seated position.  He holds out his arm and she wraps hers around it, holding his bicep in her hand.  They both walk out the door and along the way, thank the bartenders and the musicians.  Stepping outside into the cold night air, Draco turns to y/n.
"Is this goodbye then?" she asks, looking up at him, a hint of sadness in her eyes.
"Not if you don't want it to be," he replies.  Her face brightens up.
"Really?" she asks and he nods.  She jumps up and down and he smiles at her cuteness.   "Then can we meet here again?"
"Yes, of course, y/n," he replies.  "Tonight again?"
She nods excitedly.  "Perfect!  Eight o'clock?"
"Alright then, y/n.  Get some rest.  I'll be here at eight waiting for you at the bar," Draco says.  She nods and rushes forward and standing on her tiptoes, kisses him lightly on the cheek, promptly running down the road, giving him a backhanded wave.  In slight shock from her sudden gesture, he realises his hand to caress the place where she's hissed him with her soft lips.  He smiles and shakes his head.   What an amazing woman, he thinks to himself.
