The hospital. That's where Elena was. I stepped out of the car I borrowed, noticing Klaus not far off talking to Rebekah.
"Nik!" I yelled, slamming the door behind me. Rebekah was sat on the bonnet of the truck, her head shot up upon hearing my voice. "What the hell do you think you're doing?".
"Ah, she joins us at last" Klaus mused, a grin spreading across his face.

"The doppelgängers blood wasn't the problem... it was the solution" Rebekah said thoughtfully, glancing between the two of us.
"Seems so" Klaus noted, shrugging slightly.
"How did you know?" She asked.
"Well, you know how much the original witch hated me. Do you honestly think I would do anything other than the opposite of what she says?" he looked to his sisters, a smile tugging at his lips.

I couldn't help but shake my head, chuckling slightly.
"A thousand years in the grave and she's still screwing with you" I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Well, it makes sense if you think about it from her perspective" he noted. "It was her fail-safe in case I ever broke the hybrid curse. The doppelgänger had to die in order for me to become a hybrid, but if she was dead..."
"Then you couldn't use her blood to sire yourself a new species" Rebekah finished.
"Leaving me alone for all time" Klaus murmured, glancing away from us. I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt then.
"Is that what this is about?" I stepped towards him, my voice softening, "Your obsession with hybrids... You just don't want to be alone?" I asked. His face hardened then, glaring from my sister to me.
"What I want is to take my girl, take my hybrid the hell out of this one-pony town" he said unconvincingly.

Klaus quickly noticed our expressions however, and attempted to change the subject.
"Rebekah... why don't you, uh, why don't you get the truck? I'll get Elena" he said, nodding to my sister.
"Excuse me?" I said, stepping towards him as Rebekah hopped off the front of the car. She looked between us and sighed, before leaving us to argue.
"You heard me, Grace, I need Elena's blood for my hybrids, so she's coming with us" he said simply.
"Us?" I questioned exasperatedly, before shaking my head. "No, you know what, I'm not going to let you do this anymore".

"Be as stubborn as you like, sweetheart, I will have my army" he said determinedly.
"No you won't" I paused, "She's my friend".
"Friend?" He laughed, "she's not your friend... are you really that naïve?" He stepped towards me, a confident grin spreading across his face. "I am your brother, which means you have to do as I say" he growled.
"You stopped being my brother a long time ago, Nik" I muttered angrily, causing the grin to drop from his face. I could see the pain in his eyes. Deep down I knew that it hurt him to hear that.

He didn't respond for a while, he simply glared back at me. I stepped back from him slowly, stepping towards the hospital. I had to find Elena. He sped infront of me then, however.
"Don't" he warned.
"You can't just use her as your own human blood bag, Nik" I retorted, anger welling up inside me. "You've done enough to her" I spat, before attempting to shove past him. He grabbed my arm then, his grip tightening like a vice as I struggled to break free.
"You're not going in there" he whispered venomously as my bones began to break, a horrible crunching sound echoing into the night.
"Let me go!" I yelled then, pulling harder to no avail.

"Grace?"

I froze then, causing Klaus to loosen his grip slightly. I pushed my brother away, spinning around to face  the source of the all too familiar voice.

"Damon?"

My voice was barley above a whisper. A combination of confusion and shock washed over the older Salvatore's tired face, a smile spreading across his lips as he looked at me. I couldn't think of any thing to say as I stepped towards him, seeing the pained look in his eyes as he shook his head in disbelief.
