Chapter 28 - One Fine Day - Breakfast

Richard's POV

I have to take Dad's advice, Mendoza Girl is not really easy to deal with, at napatunayan ko yan sa napakaraming pagkakataon. This girl has a mind of her own, she can turn into a monster when annoyed and a sweet angel when pleased. I'll go with the later, the happier she is the easier to get her to trust me. A little patience wont hurt I guess, besides they said that if you want a happy life make sure that you have a happy wife.

At the breakfast table, I have to commend on her being hands on to Celestine despite the presence of her yaya. Maine makes sure that Celestine eats well and properly, she is the one attending to al her needs, ang sarap ng buhay ni Yaya ah, nakatulog nang mag-isa sa kwarto kagabi, nakakain pa sa oras dahil yung amo nya ang nag-aasikaso sa alaga nya, i-suggest ko kayang bawasan ang sweldo nito.

Anyway, going back to Maine, as I see her taking care of Celestine, I could see how good of a mother she is. Sayang at ayaw mag-asawa, she could be a good wife too aside from being a good mother. And that's another mystery that I intend to find out, what makes her decides to remain single for the rest of her life and just focus on raising Celestine alone. There is so much to unveil about this tough lady and I hope I could do that before the 365 days ends.

"It's Sunday today, what would you like to do after the mass?" I asked

"Go back home and unpacked" she abruptly replied

"Don't you want to eat out for lunch and explore the place muna? Let's go malling" I asked

"We can do that some other day, kailangan ko na munang ayusin yung mga gamit namin ni Celestine. Also, I have to call the store where we bought that couch for our room, I have to know kelan exactly and delivery nun" she replied

"Alright, ikaw na ang bahalang magsabi sa cook na dito tayo kakain ng lunch" I replied and continue eating my breakfast while Maine instructed Celestine's yaya to help prepare her for the mass. When Yaya and Celestine left, there were silence and no one intend to speak until she does after a while

"Thank you" she briefly said while continue eating her breakfast and did not dare to look at me

"Why are you thanking me?" I asked

"You let the malling stuff slide just like that. Thank you for agreeing" she said

"I don't want Celestine to see us disagreeing over a very small thing. Also, nakita ko naman yung point mo eh kaya ok lang, I just hope you mean it." I replied

"I am serious about the unpacking, masyado ring maraming dapat gawin. Most of our time were used up in the wedding preparation, ngayon pa lang tayo makakabalik na gawin ang mga na-set-aside while preparing for the wedding." she explained

"Ok, I am thinking also pala of doing some grocery para dito sa bahay" I said

"I'll take care of that tomorrow pagkahatid ko kay Celestine sa school" she said

"I am taking her to school tomorrow, promise ko yun sa kanya. I will also wait until matapos ang klase nya" I replied

"I don't remember na nagpaalam ka sa akin" she said

"I'm sorry, Celestine and I were talking about it the last time we were in Bulacan, she said that she is very excited to meet her new classmates. Pasensya ka na, na-excite din ako that's why I promised to bring her to school on her first day" I apologized

"Ok lang, basta wag mo na lang uulitin, I am expecting na ipapaalam mo sa akin everything that concerns her" she replied

"Noted, so pwede ko na bang ihatid si Celestine bukas sa school?" I asked

"Hindi ka ba papasok?" she asked

"I am on a honeymoon remember?" I said

"Sira ka, alam mong hindi tutoo yan" she said and smiles. "Sige na nga, ihatid natin si Celestine tomorrow, baka pwede na ring samahan mo akong mag-grocery rather than just wait in school for Celestine na matapos ang klase nya" she said and it gave me a happy heart

"Pwedeng mag-suggest?" I asked and she nodded "Why don't we bring Celestine with us sa pag-grocery? Kids also loves doing groceries right?" I said

"She will like that, pero mas maraming oras ang masasayang kung tutunganga lang tayo sa school ni Celestine" she said

"It will delight her if she knows that we stayed with her in her new school on her first day. I am actually worried a little kasi, kaya ayoko rin syang iwan, baka manibago sa environment or baka rin may biglang mang-bully sa kanya, mabuti na yung nandun ako, I mean nandun tayo agad" I said

"Idadamay mo talaga kami ni Celestine sa pagkati nyang mga paa mo sa paglaboy eh, you do away with the malling, naisingit mo naman ang pag-grocery. Are you really like this, hindi pwedeng pumirmi sa loob ng bahay?" she asked me

"Grabe ka naman sa akin, I like staying home more, I feel calm when I am in my comfort zone. We are staying  here all day today, it won't hurt if we went out for a while, sa grocery lang naman. How about you, do you prefer staying home or staying out with your bike?" I said

"Both" she briefly replied then chuckles that makes her look more radiant. I hope this lady knows how beautiful she is whenever she smiles more. "My bikes are like my home, I am comfortable having them around" she said

"Pasensya ka na hindi kasya lahat yung mga bikes mo dito sa garahe" I said

"Ok lang, I can always get those whenever I need it, pwede ko namang ipadala kay Dean" she replied. "I think we need to prepare na, baka ma-late tayo sa mass" she quickly said, I don't know if swaying the topic is intentional or she is really concern about being on time sa mass.

"Sige na go ahead, hindi na naman tayo pwedeng magsabay sa bathroom" I naughtily said

"It's alright, pwede namang sabay tayong maligo" she said and I felt heat all over me

"Seryoso ka ba?" I asked while I could not deny that my face definitely turns red because my whole being heats up upon hearing those words from her.

"Yes we can take a bath simultaneously but not together, I will use Celestine's bathroom while you use ours" she said beaming "Gago ka Faulkerson, Jr., wag ka ngang malisyoso, asa ka pang sasabayan kita sa pag-ligo. I think you are the one who needs a cold bath, pulang-pula yang tenga mo dahil dyan sa tumatakbo sa isip mo eh" she said chuckling before she leaves me at the breakfast table.
