Richard's POV
Everybody is excited on this event, lalo na si Lolo at si Dad since this is a fulfilment of their dream. Pero ako mas excited sa trip namin ni Maine mamaya after this event as this is our first trip alone. Kung hindi lang magagalit si Lolo at si Dad, kanina pa sana kami nakaalis ng asawa ko para sa long over due naming honeymoon. Medyo matagal din byahe ang papuntang north ah.
As usual nauna na naman kami ni Dad sa venue, we have to be there early to entertain the early birds. I am not new with this kind of company event but this one is different from the previous ones kasi hindi pa nag-uumpisa bored ako. I am more excited to see Maine than meet new people who are potential business partners. This is the first time that our collegues will see Mrs Richard Faulkerson, Jr. in a company event such as this. There is no doubt that she will be the most beautiful among these ladies and I her husband will be the proudest and shall walk with her heads up.
“RJ, good evening” I heard Leila said
“Hello Leila, good to see you again. You look so stunning tonight” I said
“Thank you, that is sweet. Where is Maine?” she asked
“She is on her way with the Chairman and my grandmother” I replied. “Did you come here alone?” I asked too
“Oh no, I am with Patrick but he is still outside” Leila replied. “Oh, there .they are” she suddenly said. When I looked at the entrance I saw Lolo and Lola coming inside the hall with Maine and Patrick. Siraulo to ah, why is he escorting my wife going inside the hall? I am the husband and that is my job.
When Maine sees me, she quickly walks towards me and leaves Patrick alone. “Why is he escorting you going in? Nakahawak pa sa siko mo” I whispered
“Malay ko? he was standing at the entrance when we arrived. Baka nagpapaka-gentleman lang kaya humawak sa siko ko. Kaya nga binilisan ko ang lakad para discreet ang pagbitaw, ayoko namang isipin nya na binibigyan ko ng malisya ang gesture nya” she replied whispering while she wraps her arm around mine. “Hello Leila, I am happy to see you again, looking good as ever” Maine greeted Leila sweetly smiling.
“Hello Maine, your husband was complementing me earlier before you arrived, but seeing you now, I can say that his eyes will be stuck on you. You are more beautiful tonight than the last time I saw you” Leila complemented
“Thank you for the complement Leila” Maine said
“Please excuse me Mr and Mrs. Faulkerson, I have to check on Scoth, he promised to arrived early today but he is still not here” Leila said and we acknowledge before she walks out of the hall
“This is supposed to be a happy occasion my love, hindi bagay sa iyo ang nakasimangot, sayang ang kagwapuhan mo kung mababawasan.” she said, obviously trying to calm me because of that incident with Patrick. “Hindi pa ba mag-start para makaalis na tayo agad, excited na ako sa bakasyon natin eh” she added beaming. This girl really knows how to pacify me
“That isn’t a vacation, that is a honeymoon” I said
“Aba at mukhang hindi ako pagpapahingahin ng asawa ko ah” she said giggling
“Hindi talaga, one day lang ang leave na pinayagan ni Dad, therefore I should be back to work by Tuesday.” I said
“Hala, ilang energy drink kaya ang kailangan ko to survive this weekend” she said teasing
“I’ll take care of that” I flirtly replied. “Next time ka na magpahinga kapag kasama natin si Celestine” I said. “Asan na nga pala ang anak ko?” I asked
