Richard's POV
Today's visit to the OB-Gyne is much special than the previous ones. Maine's doctor confirms to us that today, she is schedule for an ultra sound where we could hear the baby's heartbeat. I never thought that it will be this exciting. I used to always laugh to some of my friends who preferred to cancel an appointment because of this milestone. Now, I completely understand where their excitement were coming from.
"Are you excited?" Maine asked "Hindi maalis ang ngiti mo sa labi mo eh, anong iniisip mo?"
"Nothing much, I just remember how bully I was to some of my friends before kapag nagca-cancel sila ng lakad kasi may visit sa OB-Gyne yung wife nila, or yung iba, girlfriend nila" I replied
"I never thought that it will give me this kind of excitement. Alam mo yung pakiramdam na sana in a blink of an eye we are already in the clinic for that ultra-sound, dati I find it OA pero ibang klaseng saya pala talaga ang naibibigay kapag sa iyo na" I said
"Hindi naman halatang excited ka eh, you choose to take a whole day off instead of just reporting for work in the morning, before this OB-Gyne visit. Imagine Love, 1:30pm pa ang appointment natin sa doctor, but we are on our way now and definitely we could reach the clinic thirty minutes earlier than our appointment" Maine said
"Hayaan mo na 'ko, excited naman talaga ako eh" I replied
"But thank you love for coming with me today" Maine replied
"I would not miss this for the world Love, hindi ako papayag na wala ako sa milestone na 'to ng pregnancy mo" I declared
Dr. Sanchez was all smile when she sees us thirty minutes before our appointment.
"Hey, your guardian angel might have whispered to you to come early today, my supposed patient prior to your appointment cancelled her visit to tomorrow. Kaya halika na Maine at mukhang sobrang excited na yang asawa mo sa gagawin natin today" Dra. Sanchez said beaming
When Dra. Sanchez started checking up on Maine, I make sure that I attentively listens to her. I wanted to know that we are doing the right thing to ensure a smooth and safe pregnancy for Maine.
"The throw-ups are just normal at least it was lessen from the last time I checked on you. Basta, I want you to be extra careful at all times. Also, remind ko lang Maine, remember I told you last visit that your Mom's sugar level were high when she was conceiving with Dean therefore I don't want to take that risk on you. Avoid mo muna ang sobrang sweets, eat healthy food and completely no junk food please. Wag matigas ang ulo ha" Dra. Sanchez said
"I'll take note of that Dra. Sanchez, sisiguraduhin kong puro healthy foods ang kakainin ni Maine" I said
"Thank you RJ, I really need you cooperation on this para siguradong wala tayong magiging problema" Dra. Sanchez replied beaming
After a series of Q&As with Maine about her condition, Dr. Sanchez started to perform the ultra-sound. My excitement soars high when I saw in the monitor that tiny little fellow.
"There is your baby, are you ready to hear the heartbeat?" Dra. Sanchez asked
"Yes po Dra" I excitedly replied
"Wait po Dra." Maine abruptly said
"May naramdaman ka ba Maine? You look worried than excited" Dra. Sanchez asked
"Ok lang po ako Dra. pero pwede po bang paupuin nyo muna ang asawa ko, mahirap na po baka biglang himatayin yan kapag narinig ang heartbeat ng baby" Maine said
