Chapter 63 - First Trimester

Richard's POV

Learning about Maine's pregnancy is the greatest news that I have ever received in my entire life.  Maine was advised by her OB-Gyne to take extra care since this is her first pregnancy.  She was advised to take fruits and vegetables and avoid extreme actions. Also, Lola Linda never stops warning me about different Filipino beliefs during pregnancy and I cannot believe that there are too many of those, yung iba nakakainis pero mas maraming nakakatawa na lang talaga, mabuti na lang hindi namin kasama sa bahay ang Lola ko, because if not siguradong blow by blow ang litanya nya tungkol sa mga pamahiin na yun. 

We don't know if it is a coincidence or not but Maine's morning sickness started as soon as she was discharged from the hospital.  She started to crave for different kinds of food, and could not control herself in chewing ice cubes.

"Hindi ba sumasakit ang lalamunan mo sa kakakain mo ng ice cubes?" I asked Maine while she is watching TV with me and munching on some ice cubes.

"Hindi naman, wanna try?" she asked

"No thanks, by the way, remember what your OB-Gyne told you about eating too much sweets" I said

"I know that and I don't forget" she replied

"Very well, then if you don't forget, what is the meaning of those nips in your spaghetti earlier at lunchtime?" I asked and I got a fierce stare from her. "Don't look at me like that, I know what you had for lunch earlier" I added

"Bukas na bukas din tatawag ako sa agency, papapalitan ko na yaya ni Celestine" Maine threatens.

"Wag mong pagdiskitahan si Yaya, it was Celestine who told me about that.  She was wondering why you were putting nips on your spaghetti" I said

"Tiningnan ko lang naman kung masarap" Maine replied

"Nasarapan ka ba?" I asked

"Oo naman crunchy spaghetti, masarap talaga, next time try ko namang lagyan ng Nutella" she said

Aside from her weird food cravings, very sensitive din sya sa mga naaamoy nya.  I stopped using our bathroom since she started to have her morning sickness, galit na galit sya sa amoy ng after shave cologne ko, dumidikit daw sa ilong nya yung masangsang na amoy, therefore she could not help but throw up. That's why dun ako naliligo sa house ng Dad ko bago ako pumasok sa office and I should take another bath before I goes home just to make sure that she will not smell the scent of my after shave cologne kahit almost end of day na.  

"Where are you going, bakit may dala kang malaking bag" she once asked me

"These are my office attire, di ba since two days ago, dun na ako nakikiligo sa house nila Dad, kasi sabi mo ayaw mo ng amoy nung cologne ko" I explained

"Siguro nakukulitan ka na sa akin, kaya iiwan mo na 'ko.  For the last two days, hindi malaking bag ang dinadala mo kapag dun ka makikiligo kila Daddy.  You only bring stuff that you need pero ngayon, ang laki na nung dala mong bag" she said then she began weeping while getting some of her stuff and puts it in another bag

"Teka lang naman Love, anong ginagawa mo?" I confusedly asked

"Uuwi na kami ni Celestine sa Bulacan, kesa naman ikaw ang umalis ng bahay eh sa yo naman 'to, kami na lang ng anak ko ang aalis" she said while she continue weeping and packing at the same time.

"Oyyyy, wala naman akong sinasabing ganyan, para lang may choices ako sa mga isusuot ko kaya maraming damit ang dinala ko" I explained "O sige, hindi ko na dadalhin lahat nang ito, dito na lang ako mamimili ng isusuot ko, yung siguradong isusuot ko lang ang dadalhin ko" I said then I only choose the one that I prefer to wear for the day and put my other clothes back in the closet.
