Chapter 59 - End of a Long Day

Richard's POV

Today is such a long day, I came home not as early as I promised Maine, I have to meet up with Francis because the Maine already received the notice from Patrick's legal counsel regarding his claim on Celestine's custody.

"Are you alright?" she asked while gently massaging my temple while I sits on the edge of the bed and loosing up my tie

"Yes I am, just tired because today is such a long day" I replied

"Gusto mo na bang magdinner? Magpapahanda na ako na ako ng pagkain natin" she said

"Mamaya na lang, dito ka muna" I said then I softly pulls her arms for a back hug. I terribly need this hug because my discussion with Francis is not as light as I expected it. I felt a kiss from her on my shoulder. "I'm fine don't worry about me, napagod lang talaga ako" I said

"I'm sorry for dragging you on this mess" she whispered. I turned around and saw her in tears

"Hey, why are you apologizing. I am offended Mendoza Girl, remember that this is just one of those hurdles that we need to strengthen this relationship. We are into this together, because we are stronger when we are together." I said while wipping her tears then hug her. "This hug is what I need to regain the energy that was lost during the day" I said as she hugs me tighter

"Gusto mo nang mag-dinner?" she sweetly asked

"Are you insinuating a dinner in bed Mrs. Faulkerson, Jr.?" I mischievously asked

"Pagod ka pa nyan ha, pero yung harot mo umabot sa universe" she exclaimed gigling "Hay naku, makalabas na nga. We will have our dinner at the dining area, end of conversation Faulkerson, Jr." she added

"Mas gusto ko yung dinner in bed Mendoza Girl" I insisted

"Reserve that for midnight snack" she playfully replied while walking towards the door

"Uy!" I uttered beaming as show left the room. I laid my back on the bed pondering my discussion with Francis. On my way home, I was torn between telling Maine about the discussion or not.

"So I was right all along, the constant visit of Patrick Ledesma to Sandro these days is about this case" Francis said

"At sa sobrang excitement ng gagong yun, hindi na hinintay na mareceive ni Maine yung notice from his legal counsel. He was bragging about this case this morning" I said

"Ang lakas talaga ng tama ng mokong na yun kay Maine" Francis said smiling

"Sinabi mo pa, kahit ilang beses na syang sinupalpal ni Maine na wala na syang babalikan, hindi pa rin tumigil" I replied

"Anong balak mo?" he asked

"Kausapin ko muna si Dad at si Tatay, this is family matter, but one thing is sure, lalabanan namin ang tukmol na yun" I replied. "How big is our chance to win this kapag lumaban kami?" I asked

"Malaki, kung hindi hihingi si Patrick ng proof na si Maine ang biological Mother ni Celestine" Francis said "I was able to run through the case folder, sinabi nya na he believes that he is Celestine's father because he and Maine were into a serious relationship then and it was even mentioned that Maine never had any relationship with any man after they parted ways. Wala syang binanggit na kahit ano tungkol kay Olga. I could say that this guy knows his battle bro, we have to be very careful" he further said

"Thanks for the information bro, mag-ingat ka rin kasi baka mapahamak ka sa work dahil dito. You are not supposed to tell me those information but here you are discussing this case with me" I said.
