Chapter 46 - She is a Faulkerson

Maine's POV

"It is our family Maine, never exclude yourself because you are already a Faulkerson" are Lola's words that keeps on repeating in my mind from Royalties Hotel until we arrived home.

I admit, this dinner gave me sleepless nights and has been bugging me since the day I signed the contract with Royalties Hotel, where I took the liberty to choose the menu all by myself. It gave me a different fright because technically, Lola Linda passed on to me the preparation of the said event where I am supposed to be just assisting her.

Also, I saw how Lola Linda treated Ellie, and I believe that she values her opinion more than mine. Ellie did that with RJ during the food tasting, and I'm glad that RJ was on my side when that happens. But with Lola Linda is different, mas masaya pala kapag sya ang kakampi ko.

"Thanks again Ellie for helping us in organizing this dinner. The set-up is nice and cozy. Good job iha" Lola commented while we are all preparing to go home.

"Thank you po Lola, I'm glad nagustuhan po ninyo. I personally supervised the set-up. Pasensya na po sa menu, si Maine lang kasi ang nag-food tasting eh. I've been telling her that you guys may not like the menu but she still insisted and proceeds with closing the contract for the reservation" Ellie said bragging.

"What's wrong if it is Maine who chooses the menu, I will not let her do that if I don't trust her judgement. Besides everybody enjoyed what's on the buffet table. Mukhang ikaw lang ang hindi na pleased sa dinner na 'to, to think you are not even invited" Lola replied and I wonder if she is aware of what has been going on between Ellie and I

"But it seems she does not know the favorite food of the family." Ellie said, grabe at nag-effort pa talagang isumbong ako kay Lola Linda, parang kinawawa ko. Gagang 'to ihagis kita dyan eh.

"And you are saying that you know the family's preferred food?" Lola asked

"I am just saying based on what I know Lola, di ba I practically grew up with Faulkerson Family" Ellied replied

"Are you insinuating that there should be bopis in the menu because that's our favorite food and serve it to the foreign guests?" Lola asked Ellie again

"Ellie ... Lola and I allowed Ate Maine to choose the menu because we believe that she is the best person to do that. Ate Maine is a culinary arts graduate and had a few months of training in New York, in case you wanna know" Rizza said

"And if I may asked, do you realized that you are embarrassing Maine? How dare you humiliate her?" Lola fiercely said

"I am just stating a fact Lola Linda" Ellie replied. "I did not mean to embarrassed her" she added

"It's alright Lola, I really don't mind if she does not like my choices, her opinion does not matter anyway" I straightly said because I am the one being humiliated here and I am not taking this sitting down.

"I know the Faulkerson family more than you do Maine, RJ, Rizza, Kuya RD and I grew up together" Ellie said bragging

"Alright Ellie, I'll keep that in mind. Next time I'll make sure to consider your opinion." I sarcastically said. "Ok lang yan Lola, she is just stating her opinion since she is a long time family friend" I added

"This is not merely stating her opinion. What I am seeing now is a rude hotel officer who does not have a shame in embarrasing their guests. Again, thank you for your help Ellie but I guest I won't be dealing with you again in the future because I am beginning to believe in Rizza na inuuto mo lang ako noon at ngayon because you are hoping for you and RJ to get back together. How dare you belittle my granddaughter-in-law and say some nasty things about her, much more humiliate her in front of me" Lola said and I am not expecting those words from her.
