"Don't you think this is a lot for a first date?" I asked Diamond as I stared at myself in the mirror. She had picked my a short, black, bodycon dress that barley reached my knees. She claimed it was 'in style' right now.
"First off, this is by no means at all a date, Alex. You're only doing this for one thing and one thing only, remember that. Secondly, I think it's perfect. He'll be all over you tonight." She smirked stealing one of Maya's Cheerios from her princess cup that she left on my dresser.
"What do you think Maya baby?" I turned so she could get a good view of the dress from my bed.
"It's pretty mommy." She giggled.
"See, your daughter likes it so you should too."
"I guess," I mumbled as I turn back to the mirror, eyeing myself some more.
"When is this guy coming to pick you up anyway? It's like 6:30 already."
"I'm meeting him there, we agreed on 7:15."
"Is this a date or a business meeting? Why didn't he just come get you?"
"I told him not to." I shrugged.
"Alex! Why?! You just threw away your chance at a free limo ride!"
"I didn't want him to see Maya. He's doesn't know she exists."
"You never told him about Maya?"
"No, I never told him about Maya, you're saying it like I was supposed to. He's supposed to be my sugar daddy and nothing more. It's not like he's a potential dad for her or anything."
"Good point. See this is why I like being friends with you. You're rational."
I grabbed my phone off my bed turning it on to check the time. I needed to figure out when to start leaving so I wouldn't get there to early but not to late either. This first impression was crucial to the rest of my sugar babying 'career'.
"I have to be in a world like this. I'll be back around 9 maybe, okay? Can you watch Maya till then?"
Diamond nodded, "Yeah definitely, don't worry about anything but looking cute for this man, okay?"

I felt myself grow more nervous as I approached the illuminated restaurant. It brought so much attention to itself as it sat on the dimly lit street. I already felt out of place as I walked into the building. There were so many wealthy people around and I didn't know how to behave. I felt like they could tell I wasn't in their tax bracket.
I shrugged off the anxiousness I was feeling and walked up to the host podium.
"Good evening ma'am, welcome to Mastro's Steakhouse. Do you already have a reservation?" The woman smiled. She wore a plain silk black button up that was neatly tucked into her machine black pencil skirt which went down to her knees, letting her black stockings cover the rest of her exposed legs.
"Uh yes, Brown?" I replied unsure.
The woman looked down and typed in the name onto the small ipad that was connected to the podium.
"First name Christian?" She questioned, glancing up at Alex. I nodded.
She looked a bit skeptical but she led me inside. We weaved around tables until Christian, who was sitting alone at a table with a bored expression on his face, was finally in view.
"Hi." I said softly causing him to perk up.
"You're here." He smirked, his eyes following me as I took my seat across from him.
"I'm sorry it took so long, traffic." I explained.
"No worries, I understand. Just don't keep me waiting again." He said in an almost joking tone but his eyes read seriousness.
"Sorry." I said again, not knowing how to respond. I was always a very socially awkward person.
"Well can I start you two off with anything?" The hostess said dragging our attentions away from each other and now to her.
"Yes, can I get Veuve Clicquot, iced please and for starters could we get your Cheddar Gougères?"
I widened my eyes as he spoke. I didn't know he knew how to speak French, or at least knew how to pronounce things correctly in French. The words flowed so effortlessly from his lips.
"So," He started, making me snap out of my previous thoughts, "What do you do?"
"I don't do much, just work and take care of my dau— dog. Take care of my dog." I stammered.
"Where do you work?" He questioned taking a sip from his glass.
"McDonald's," I answered hesitantly. He stared at me for a moment before busting out laughing.
"That was good Alexandria, I haven't laughed like that in a long time." He wiped the tears from his eyes. I twisted my lips to the side, slightly offended.
"I wasn't joking."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't me-"
"It's fine, don't worry about it." I cut him off, looking down at the menu. I didn't want to talk about my current employment status anyway.
Dinner went pretty smoothly from there. Christian went on about how he was stressed with his company. The guy had a lot of pent up stuff. Most of the meal I was the listener, rather than the talker which didn't bother me. I just envisioned it would be the complete other way around.
"Are you clean?" He asked out of the blue. He had just paid for our meal and we were now walking to the parking deck.
"Excuse me?"
"Are you clean?" He repeated, "Like have you gotten checked?"
"I've never been checked but I can assure you I'm clean."
He shook his head, "I don't believe it."
Then why take me out?
"You're going to have to get checked."
Part of me was slightly offended but the other part was understanding. I wouldn't any disease either. Waking up to burning pee isn't exactly sought out for.
"Well if I'm getting checked then you're going to have to get checked to." I sassed back.
He shrugged, "That's no issue." He replied.
