Dear Diary:                                                                        April 23, 2014

We've been on the other side for almost 4 days now.  We have hunted, visited Aries' lair, and gone sailing among a few other things. Today we were taking a journey to the fiery pits of hell. We were going below hell. And we were going to come face to face with the Volturi. Something we never thought was going to happen again but now it seemed inevitable. We got ourselves ready and followed the Watchers into the depths of the woods to a cave. Everyone was there but Rogue as Hades emerged from the cave and with his outstretched hands said:

"Welcome to the Underworld, my friends."

We all looked at each other and with the Watchers nodding and smiling entered the darkest cave I've ever seen in my existence. To say it was gloomy, dank, and dark was an understatement. We followed Hades, deeper and deeper. A feeling of foreboding overcame all of us but we proceeded to walk lower and lower; at times jumping over boulders and little rivers; some filled with water, others filled with red hot lava. This was definitely not a place to play around with but we trusted the Watchers not to lead us into a trap; after all we were the only ones that weren't Gods there.

Our first order of business was to go to the deepest portion of the Underworld also known as Tartarus. It was hot down there and there was no longer any water but just giant pools of lava and steam. As we were walking down there, we bypassed the River Styx; the ferryman bowed low to Hades and just looked at us with unfathomable eyes as we walked by. Frankly, he gave me the creeps; Esme kept close to me as we walked on. The Watchers surrounded us from all sides so we wouldn't walk into the lava by accident. It wouldn't do squat to them but us.....well poof we'd be gone.

The next thing we heard was a roar so loud, we winced and right in front of us stood a thing. The best way I could describe him or it rather was that it was at least 10 feet tall and looked a lot like the Balrog from the first Lord of the Rings movie. Except that it was completely orange and made out of fire and it had wings. All photos are below and in the album. If I wasn't seeing this with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it. Hades had explained to us that this was his third in command of this place. The Guardian of Tartarus. That's the only name it had. It let us pass. I know I wasn't the only one that gulped.

We walked for what seemed like another hour, past narrow walkways, caves, and plenty of red hot magma. We felt like we were at the deepest pits of the earth, closer to the core. It was as if we were in a volcano or something. Finally we entered this giant mass of a cavern and heard shrill cries and screams of agony. What we saw and heard next was something out of your worst nightmares. We saw the once mighty Volturi, tied to different portions of that cavern. They were emaciated, in obvious pain, and scared shitless. But what stunned us was the music blasting in full base from invisible speakers. It made the whole place vibrate. The song was Metallica's "Enter Sandman".

The rumbling began again as another creature appeared from the gloom and the back of the cavern. This creature was even taller and larger than the Guardian of Tartarus. But unlike that one, we knew who this was. Its skin looked like armor, it was all muscle, with a tail, and 4 paws with talons but what made it extremely horrific looking, was its 3 massive heads. We were finally looking at the one and only mighty, Cerberus. Hades' pet and second in command was as vicious and hideous looking as you can imagine. It made the Children of the Moon look like little puppies. Each of the three heads had red glowing eyes and jaws that would make a great white shark jealous. They were razor sharp and had fangs larger than anything we've ever seen. Meanwhile, the Volturi especially Jane, Alec, Felix, and Demetri were whimpering. They weren't looking at Cerberus directly but higher. Just then we heard a very dark, evil, and deep voice say:
