i have just finished devouring the first book of hunger games (it literally took me 8 hours i cri) on pdf (i first thought it odd to read on a laptop, but eh), and boi, i can say that those 358 pages of blood and massacre was definitely worth it. never found myself settling down to finish a whole book in one sitting ever since "the wizard of oz" (which, i think, was somewhere around january). and goddamit, this stands to prove, once again, that books are way better than the stinking movie adaptations. it's 00:16 at the moment, and it IS considered another day, right?

DAY VI - YOUR VIEWS ON MAINSTREAM MUSIC

i don't really have much of a say in this, since i'm not really into music all that well anymore. also, i never go out to discover songs i like by my own idle will anymore, but learn them upon requirement of our upcoming gigs and all. also, when someone goes out of their way to recommend a song to me which they think would "suit my tastes".

√ first of all, mainstream music is getting kinda annoying to me. secondly, it's just either gibberish rapping or spanish lyrics, or just some catchy tune with repetitive as fuck lines. although i find the music itself quite unsatisfactory, i don't have a say in what people are supposed to listen to.

if they like it, i've got no qualms. if they play despacito in a grocery store, i don't have the right to yell at them or complain openly about how "gross" they're being (i'm looking looking at one classmate i have, shush). overall, mainstream music is a little nonsensical, and i don't understand why youth and middle-aged people take a liking to them. or when they sing spanish lyrics even though the can't understand any of the shit it's trying to say (um, this is coming from an alien who listens to japanese 24/7, sorry).

but just because i find it annoying doesn't mean i break radios when i hear some of them on it. since i don't really have those exaggerated preferences in regards to music and other modern-day multimedia which the world is basically having debtes about (kpop and anime wars is2g), i don't really care abouy mainstream music.

i don't like it, then i don't like it. i don't listen to it then judge people and trash-talk their fucking choices, no. if i disagree with it, i stop listening to it or looking the meanings up on best uncle, Mr. Google. that's why, in my opinion, mainstream music is quite shitty, but beyond that, i can't criticize it anymore because i don't really fucking care about whatever shit everyone is trying to emphasize or show.

ok, i know i'm being such an asshole here about how much i disagree with mainstream things even though i haven't really seen or checked them out just because i'm not interested, but come on. everything in this modern era is running hypocrisy at its best.
