book: Olalla
author: Robert Louis Stevenson
blurb: A novella about tormented love, decaying aristocracy, and a chilling secret. [Penguin Little Black Classic No.19]
review: I started this novella really enjoying the creepy and mysterious aspect about it. Stevenson really painted this haunting and spooky image of this family where something is just not quite right, and it was very fun seeing all the little hints that something was a bit sketchy.
But the ending of the book just confused me. What happened? It went from 0 to 100 real quick, didn't really explain what was going on, and I was left feeling perplexed at the ending as to what was actually happening. So that kind of ruined the whole story for me.
