book: The Time Traveler's Wife

author: Audrey Niffenegger

blurb: Audrey Niffenegger's innovative debut, The Time Traveler's Wife, is the story of Clare, a beautiful art student, and Henry, an adventuresome librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six, and were married when Clare was twenty-three and Henry thirty-one. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity in his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

review: It's kind a funny story why I ended up reading this rather heavy book (518 pages) in just two days. I picked a random book off my shelf because I was bored out my mind, and resolved to read it before the end of the month - which gave me 48 hours.

This would not have been possible had I not become absolutely obsessed with this book. It was gorgeous. I'm not a sucker for romance stories usually but I loved this romance because it was so real and raw. It felt like they were real people if you took away the time travelling bit.

But the time travelling bit was what made it for me. It was such an innovative idea which was so cleverly done to push the story forward as well as revealing so much about these characters. It was so cool, and I basically engulfed the story because I was so excited to see what happened next.

The ending really touched me deeply, and I was left with a lump in my throat when I had finished. Let's just say, I loved this book and I can't wait to watch the movie.
