   Y/N'S POV

When the coast was clear, I snuck into the palace and headed for the lab. I was given intel that there was valuable tech inside the kingdom.
There was no sign of King T'Challa or his warriors, so this seemed to be working out in my favor. I spotted a few different suits and went to take one, but I needed smaller items.

I took out my bag and grabbed some of the tech on the table, but something went past my arm. I looked back towards the entrance and saw Black Panther.

He said,"It appears that someone is rather lost. Please return what you have stolen, or the consequences will not be in your favor."

I chuckled and said,"My apologies, your majesty, but I have to. This could really make my boss happy and I need the money. Why don't you let a poor girl get away with this, hmm?"

He walked up to me and tried to take the bag from me, but I twisted his arm and threw him over the table. I ran for the exit, but he pulled me back.
I hit him with my bag and he grabbed me by my arms, before I kneed him in the unpleasant place. He groaned in pain, and I made it out of the lab.

However, a wave of electricity passed through my body, and I fell to the ground. I dropped my bag and reached for it, but that was when everything went black.

  ......

When I could make out what was around me, I was surrounded and King T'Challa said,"That was a very nice show, Ms. Y/N. I'm impressed."

I blushed and said,"Why, thank you. Hey, where's my bag?"

He held it in between his fingers and explained to me,"Right here, but everything is back where you stole it from. You care to explain to me how you got into Shuri's lab?"

I smiled saying,"That's classified information. I don't think I can share that with you."

King T'Challa nodded and looked at me for a moment, before he asked me,"Have you always been a thief, Y/N?"

I was surprised by his question, but I decided to be honest and replied,"No, but I wasn't smart enough for normal schoolwork, and I had to find something else to do. My brother tried to help me, but I'm not sure what happened to him. He was smart, yet he just disappeared one day."

King T'Challa looked over at one of his warriors and back at me saying,"Your brother's name was Erik, correct?"

My eyes widened, and I nodded saying,"Yes! Yes! That's his name, but his real name was N'Jadaka. You know him?"

King T'Challa's eyes softened, and he explained to me,"Y/N, your brother is dead. I'm sorry."

I could tell he was telling the truth, and tears fell down my face.

King T'Challa rested his hand on my shoulder and said,"You're not alone, Y/N, and I'm truly sorry for your loss. Since N'Jadaka and I were related, we are also family. As family, I can help you find something else. You don't have to be a thief. You can be better. What do you say?"

He held out his hand, and I wiped my tears saying,"Okay. Thank you, T'Challa. I...I promise to try to change."

He nodded and pulled me in for a hug, which I definitely needed.
