Y/N'S POV
Apparently, I was dead. How, I wasn't sure. The people that I had talked to along the way gave me nothing to work with. I was struggling to remember much of anything, really. I only remembered my Avengers family, Director Fury, and my husband, Bruce Banner.
When I finally found my way to the Avengers Tower, I was exhausted and extremely hungry. I knew where the Avengers Tower was thanks to Director Fury. He seemed very chill for hearing someone who was supposedly dead, but he had probably experienced this many times before.I was not expecting Thor to be the one to welcome me inside the Avengers Tower.
He yelled in pure delight,"LADY Y/N!! LADY Y/N IS HERE! SHE'S HERE! SHE'S ALIVE!"
Thor hugged me, and I returned his hug. Natasha, Clint, Steve, and Tony all hugged me. Yet, no Bruce.
Tony noticed my expression and said,"He's upstairs."
I rushed upstairs and ended up knocking Bruce over. He caught me, but then he fixed his glasses.
He took them off and stared at me saying,"Y-Y/N?"
Bruce slowly brought his hands to my face and he said,"I...I thought I killed you. I...I saw all the blood and...and you were gone. You're...You're here."
I embraced Bruce, and he held me very tightly. He began to cry into my shoulder, and the Avengers all rushed to see the scene.
Tony said,"This is so sad."
Steve rolled his eyes and pulled Tony back saying,"You don't have to see everything, Stark. Let's give them privacy."
Tony pushed Steve, before everyone left. When Bruce and I finally got off the floor, he took my hand and led me down to the lab.
I took a seat beside him, and he never let go of my hand. Even as he struggled to work and hold my hand at the same time, he still refused to let go of my hand....
However, when it came time for me to lie down, I squeezed Bruce's hand and said,"Can you stay with me until I go to sleep?"
Bruce pulled his hand back and said,"I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why? It's never been a problem before. I'm not asking you to stop working completely. Just for a few minutes, and then you can come back down here to finish your work in peace."
Bruce sighed saying,"Y/N, that's not it. I don't know how you're here right now, but The Hulk ruined everything. He hurt you. I hurt you. I don't think I should be that close to you for too long."
I reached for his hand, and he moved his hand saying,"Y/N, no. Maybe Stark or Rogers can stay with you for a minute. I...I can't."
I said, clearly rejected,"Oh, okay. Night, Bruce. Love you."
I kissed his jaw and headed to an available room. A couple of minutes later, Tony noticed the door was open.
He said,"Y/N, you in here?"
I said,"Yeah, I'm here."
Tony took a seat beside the bed and said,"You want a bedtime story?"
I threw a pillow at him and replied,"No, Stark, but thank you. I want my husband to not be afraid of being near me. He can hold my hand at first, but then he can't be near me at all for long periods of time. What is that, Tony?"
Tony replied,"I don't know, Y/N, but Banner did take what happened to you pretty hard. Don't take it personally. He still loves you. He just doesn't want to be the reason you leave us again."
I became quiet, and Bruce appeared at the doorway. Tony gave me a hug, before he left Bruce and I alone.
Bruce said,"I'm sorry. I know I made you upset. I'm just afraid the other guy will come out and kill you again, like a couple of months ago."
I said,"Bruce, come here."
Bruce walked over to the bed, and I pulled him down.
I rested his head on my lap and ran my fingers through his hair saying,"You can't keep thinking about it, Banner. I'm back alive now, and I need you to be here with me. I'm sorry I haven't been around, but we still have a lot of time ahead of us. I don't want you to get so caught up with what happens that you actually treat me like I'm not here. That is worse than me not being here at all."
"I'm here with you, Y/N. I'm here."
