It's pure adrenaline that's keeping me standing right now. It's the overall excitement of empowerment that is keeping me intact and strong.

Seeing Eric's head jerking to the side from the slap is enough to keep me going for ever. And it seems like the entire area goes silent, an enraged ex girlfriend on the loose.

"What the fuck?" His eyes are dark and angry as he turns back to me, hand against his cheek.

I'm seething, chest heaving up and down as if I've just ran a marathon. "I should've done that a long time ago."

He scoffs, scowling at me as if I'm only scum on his shoe. It's clear he's slightly tipsy, maybe even a little high, but I'm sure his emotions are the same. "Let me guess, this is about the other night with West? Can't believe he told on me."

The fact that he's mocking me only increases the fire inside of my stomach. He's making this into a joke, acting as if he doesn't care at all. As if I don't know he still wants to be with me.

"You know what I've been wondering lately?" I snap. "What in the hell I ever saw in you."

To my eyes, it almost looks like he's remorseful, but his facade is back up and I don't think the old Eric is coming back.

"And you know what I've been wondering lately?" He takes a swig from his bottle while I glare at him, waiting for an answer. "How you could be such a slut to let him fuck you after only two months of knowing him."

I completely and utterly lose the last bit of sanity I had left.

Lunging at my ex-boyfriend, my hands fly to his face; slapping and punching, my anger getting the best of me.

"Nina!" It's Jace, I can tell, but I don't stop.

"You fucking cheating ass bastard!" I scream, while he tries to grab my wild arms. "I can't believe I wasted twelve years of my life with you!"

"Goddammit Nina!" I'm jerked away from Eric quite violently, my back hitting a car I presume. Jace looks like he's going to kill and Eric looks about the same. Difference is, I don't know who Jace is mad at.

"Let me go!" I yell at Jace, someone else holding me back. The tattoos on the arm that's around my waist looks like those of Damon.

"Having your toy handle your dirty work, West?" Eric snickers, wiping his mouth. At least I made him bleed. "Classy."

"Shut the fuck up," Jace booms, veins popping out in his neck and forehead.

"Or what?" Eric holds his hands out, looking dazed and almost bored. He looks drained. "You're going to fight me?"

Jace is like a ticking time bomb. "Stay away from her. She doesn't want you anymore."

He turns to leave, eyes never leaving mine, but Eric isn't done.

"Before you go," He slurs. "I think we all want to know how Nina's pussy tastes."

I lose my breath, arm flying out to catch Jace before he does something violent. I'm too late, though, and he swings around with a hard right hook to Eric's left jaw. Said man stumbles back and that's when all hell breaks loose.

Men from Jace's team throw themselves into the brawl, taking on Eric's little pose.

What have I done?

I can only stare in shock at the outburst of violence, not being able to do anything because there's a chance I could get hurt. And if I'm not already in trouble with Jace than I will be if I intervene.

Luckily, the race officials decide to break up the fight, threatening to kick them out of the premises if they don't separate.

Jace comes out of the crowd not a single scratch on his face, but I don't have much time to feel relieved before he's grabbing my arm and dragging me away. I choose not to say anything because I know he's pissed and usually me talking doesn't help.
