Saniwa couldn't help but let out a sigh. "Didn't you say that stabbing and piercing are your only talents?"

"I wasn't referring to this kind of piercing," Otegine retorted,"I was referring to piercing with a spear, not ear piercings!"

"Aren't they all the same? Both still require you to pierce through something, don't they?" Saniwa remarked in discontent.

The self piercing kit still rested in Otegine's hand as he eyed it uneasily. Having no knowledge on how to use the item, the spear shook his head in dismay.

It all started when Otegine was out in the courtyard, playing around with the brothers of the Awataguchi school. He was running around the yard with Akita Toushirou on his shoulders when Heshikiri Hasebe told him that he was being summoned by Saniwa.

The pink haired sword looked disappointed when Otegine had to leave but upon being promised that he would get another ride on Otegine's shoulders, his face brightened as he bid Otegine off with a sweet smile.

Meanwhile, Otegine reported to Saniwa's office, curious as to what Saniwa would want from him.

Maybe she wants to nag at me for not kissing her goodnight last night. He wondered, chuckling afterwards. No way would that be true.

Indeed, Saniwa and Otegine have been dating for a month now. Although the news was still kept lowkey among the swords, most of them had more of less figured out the relationship between them.

Maybe it was because Saniwa was a private person who liked to keep to herself which made the matter less major than it actually was. Otegine knew that his master was reserved and that the only person she had ever opened up to was him, which made him undeniably happy.

"I'm coming in." Knocking the door gently, Otegine excused himself into Saniwa's room.

The room was dimly lit, just how Saniwa liked for it to be. People who weren't familiar with Saniwa would probably thought that she was a really gloomy person.

Crouching behind her desk was Saniwa. Her feet were placed up of the chair she was seated on as she fumbled around with an item as big as her palm in her hands.

As she realised Otegine had appeared, she lifted her eyes off her hands as she smiled lightly. "Finally, I was waiting."

"What do you need me for?" Otegine made his way towards the female, ruffling her hair.

"Otegine, you said that you're good at piercing, right?" Saniwa questioned.

"Yes," He answered skeptically,"I only have talents in stabbing and piercing."

Saniwa's expression brightened as she extended her hand out towards Otegine, revealing the item which she was playing around with earlier. The spear's eyes fell onto the item as he knitted his brows in confusion.

"What is this?" He asked in puzzlement.

Saniwa looked unconvinced as she answered,"You don't know? It's a self ear-piercing kit."

"I have not seen it before." Otegine picked the item from Saniwa's hands and observed it.

"Anyway, help me pierce my ears. I have been wanting a ear piercing for the longest time now. You are good at piercing, aren't you? Help me out." Tugging her hair away from her ear, she directed Otegine to it.

Otegine's eyes did not leave the item in his hands. He then looked up at Saniwa blankly. "I don't know how this thing works."

And that was how they ended up in this current situation. Both Saniwa and Otegine were frustrated due to the communication breakdown they had with each other.

Saniwa huddled herself into a ball as she threw her head into her arms. "Otegine is an idiot..."

"I will try," Otegine tried to get Saniwa back on track as he panicked,"I will try so don't look so unhappy!"

"Since you aren't experienced, I'm scared that it'll hurt..." Saniwa murmured, her eyes fixated onto the item in Otegine's hand as they wavered in fear.

Otegine bent down to Saniwa's level, placing her hand in his as he reassured her once again,"I will do it as gently as possible so it won't hurt."

Saniwa smiled. "As expected of Otegine, you are so gentle."

"I'm only like that when it comes to you." Otegine shrugged her comment off as he positioned the item right at her ear, with the needle pointed right at Saniwa's earlobe.

The female took in a deep breath, attempting to calm her nervousness as she stared right ahead and convinced herself mentally that it would not hurt. Truth to be told, her other earlobe was already pierced, which she had done by herself but it hurt like hell for her that she decided to not pierce her ears by herself ever again for the rest of her lifetime.

The sword patted her head gently in comfort before speaking,"I am going to do it now, alright?"

"Do it quickly so that I will stop hallucinating about the pain-"

Saniwa's sentence was cut short when Otegine's face neared hers and his lips rested on top of hers. This caught Saniwa off guard, especially since the two of them had never kissed before.

Her head began spinning and butterflies fluttered furiously in her stomach. She felt her heart beating profusely against her chest as it got to the brink of jumping right out of her chest that instant.

With eyes widened, Saniwa could not think of anything else except for the tingling sensation on her lips. Her heartbeat was only going up as the seconds which felt that minutes went by. Precisely, time seemed to stop altogether at that exact moment for her.

Otegine pulled away with a triumphant smile dorned across his lips. He raised his hand up, showing Saniwa that he had already pierced her ears successfully.

"Did it hurt?" He asked out of pure concern.

"N-no..." Saniwa still could not comprehend the situation.

Her ears were burning but they were not from the pain of the piercing but instead from the fact that blood in her system was circulating all the way up to her head. The feeling of Otegine's lips was still on hers and Saniwa couldn't help but blush even more as she thought back on what happened just moments ago.

Grinning innocently, Otegine nodded in satisfaction. "I guess piercing really is the only sole talent I have."

a/n: here's another request by @IBelieveIAmTall! i have not written one for any yari type swords yet so otegine will be the first :) he's a pretty underrated sword so im pleasantly amazed that he was requested ^.^ btw the three great spears are honestly the touken ranbu version of the three idiots lmao such dorks (they proved me right in that tourabu hanamaru s1 ep ahaha)

by the way this chapter was inspired by a chapter in relife where oga kazuomi helps kariu rena pierce her ear. i found this scene really cute so i decided to use it ♡
