As soon as I had finished reading the message, I pressed the call button and placed the phone to my ear

As soon as I had finished reading the message, I pressed the call button and placed the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" Camila laughed lightly.

"Sorry I'm just really fired up right now and can't text." I replied quickly.

"Are you?"

"Yes. What do you mean?"

"It's just...I mean, Lauren, you're handling all of this so much better than you ever have."

"I am?" I asked, feeling my body relax a bit.

"Yeah! If you look at your responses now and compare them to like two years ago, there's such a difference. They're much more...calm, I guess, a little more empathetic."

"But I'm still responding."

"You're Lauren Jauregui. You think there's ever going to be a time where you're silent?"

I laughed at Camila's comment and finally took a seat on my bed, a wave of peace crashing over me. She was right. I did feel a lot better about how I had handled the hateful comments this time around. I could really feel myself growing and changing, and it was so nice to hear somebody else acknowledge that, especially Camila.
