Camila

"So you went a little off book there for a second, huh, C?" Roger said with a grin as we exited the radio station.

"Don't I always?", I laughed, "Which part are we talking about this time?"

Suddenly, my smile dropped and I grew concerned.

"Wait, did I do something wrong?" I asked, much more serious this time.

Sometimes I wished that I wasn't so afraid of disobeying my management. I envied that about Lauren; her lack of fear had given her the opportunity to come out.

"No, no! It just caused a little detour in the interview, that's all." he said in a calm tone.

"What detour are we talking about?"

"Cuando le dijiste al mundo que estas enamorado de ese 'doctor del amor' (When you told the world that you're in love with that 'love doctor')." my mom chimed in with a giggle.

"The Matthew thing?"

"Yes, Camila. The Matthew thing." Roger chuckled.

I had just finished up an interview with one of my favorite radio hosts, Elvis Duran. As always, I had had a great time, but I may have taken the focus away for a bit when I decided to bring up Matthew Hussey, my newest YouTube celebrity crush.

(^^ Go to 22:25)

I knew that Matthew had been on the show a few times and one of the producers had informed me that Elvis and Matthew were good friends. I couldn't help but bring the subject up now that I had spent weeks watching his videos and starting to obsess over him. The last time I had spiraled into something like this was back when I was obsessed with One Direction.

Based on the way Roger was being all giggly about the situation rather than scolding me for it, I couldn't help but wonder if my mom had shared the news of my most recent crush with him. Then again, anytime I ever showed any sort of interest in a member of the male species, he seemed to be beaming.

"Mamá!", I scolded her as I linked my arm with hers, "Que les dijiste (What did you tell them)?"

"Ay, nada, cálmate (Oh, nothing, calm down)." she returned.

"Sinuhe, are you going to lie to your daughter like that?" Roger teased.

My mom and I both looked at Roger, clearly surprised by the fact that he had understood our conversation.

"Rogerino, is your Spanish getting better?" I asked as we finally approached the awaiting van.

"It is getting better. In fact, it's so much better that I know all about this little 'love doctor' crush of yours." he winked.

"This is why I keep you out of my love life." I said to my mother, nudging her playfully.

"Oh, please, Camila. This isn't your love life." she countered.

"It can be." Roger spoke up, opening the door to the van.

I unlinked arms with my mother to allow her to get into the car then furrowed my brow at Roger.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Camila, at this rate, you could have anyone your little heart desires." he responded.
