I carefully hugged Yin as she slept, making sure I didn't stir her too much or she might wake up. Although Yin had never once woke up throughout my nightly visits, the possibility still frightened me.

Her fragrant scent enveloped me and I lightly stroked her hair which was on the pillow, gazing at her lovingly.

I make myself more comfortable before closing my eyes, planning to sleep until 6 AM, 1 hour before Yin always wakes.

We were now in our second year in high school and college.

My nightly visits continued and before my 1st year ended, I resigned myself to never stopping until I graduated. I refused to think about what'll happen in case someone caught me, choosing to relish our one sided contact as if it would be the last.

My texting tutor side task had expanded significantly and I called it my network. I had moved it to social media where I could catch up with the 10 or so people I kept close contact with and the 20 plus others that talked to me occasionally. Most of them were students but I also had some teachers who asked me advice from school work or just chatted with me as well as the high school nurse and the librarian. My old English teacher included.

All of them within contact of Yin. The ones I frequently talked to were her classmates and I was also in touch with her various teachers. The librarian was added since Yin went there regularly to study and the nurse was added so I can keep tabs on Yin if she gets sick.

I was concerned at 1st that Lee or his sister might wonder why I was talking to so many people all at the same time with no definite purpose aside from wanting to be a good senior. So I divided everyone into groups and used different names with different purposes for each. Lee's sister's group was the center group which was about 7 students who were in the same class as Yin.

When Yin entered 2nd year, the sister didn't make it to her class as well as 4 others so I slowly cut off my connection with them by saying I was too busy with college but was always available if they needed urgent advice. In short, they were useless to me now but in case they ended up in Yin's class again next year, I won't cut them off.

I got in contact with her current teachers as well and all that's left is to find more of her classmates to add to my network. The ones left were quiet types and wouldn't be any help if I asked them to poach for people.

...

"Yang! Are you going to the usual hang out today?" Vance asked loudly as he suddenly sat on my desk and knocked several items to the floor.

I wasn't close to him initially since he always arrived late or was absent but after I went to the hang out yesterday and met him there, he approached me again today.

I hid my irritation at his boisterous behaviour and smiled at him, "We don't have any after school work so I'll go today" I bent over to retrieve my items on the floor.

"Sweet! I'll introduce you to my squad while we're at it. Man, why did I never see you in 1st year? Were you hiding under a rock or something?" he asked excitedly.

"I was just low key" I say dismissively.

I was too busy dreading my separation from Yin to socialize, fighting with my indecisive feelings and then later establishing my network. Making friends was the least of my concerns.

"Low key? You? Hah! You might as well put a paper bag on your head. You could be our year's star! Don't you want to be popular?" he jumped off the desk as we walked out of the room. Many greeted me as we walked out, temporarily cutting off our conversation.

Outside, "Do you see what I mean? Did you see the amount of people that said goodbye to you? I don't even see you talk to them often. Are you some kind of celebrity?" Vance said incredulously, waving his arms around.
