Eugeo's POV

Kirito had lead me out of the house, after I had changed of course. The spring air was still cold, but I could smell the sweet scent of flowers and the grass was glistening wet.
I looked down at mine and Kirito's hands, his fingers fit comfortably in mine. My hand was slowly being warmed up by his, and I felt his grip tighten slightly.
"Kirito, are you okay?" I questioned, looking back up at his face.
"Y-Yeah, Sorry can you just stand slightly behind me a second?" He said, his eyes showed concern but I saw him smiling. I did as he said and stepped back slightly, my body now behind his.
I started looking around, wondering why Kirito had said such a thing, that's when I saw Asuna.
She was walking down the street with a boy I didn't recognise, at first I was a little worried, wondering if she was in trouble or something. However I saw her smiling, that's when I relaxed slightly, but Kirito was the opposite.
I saw him tense up, and I got a little disheartened...

Was he jealous?

I looked back at the two, wondering if Kirito knew the boy with her. I then noticed that Asuna was discreetly pointing at us, whispering most likely about me and Kirito...
I started to panic, and thought about the worst of things. Kirito still hadn't told me why I had to get behind him, and that made me even more nervous.
My breathing started to speed up, but it wasn't noticeable, I squeezed Kirito's hand slightly in a curious manner.
He looked back at me, his serious face falling into more of a sympathetic one.
"I should have explained, sorry Eugeo." He said, pulling me towards him slightly. I could feel Asuna's eyes glaring into the back of my head, as well as the random boys.
I started to heat up, my heart rate increasing as Kirito's face got closer.
What was he doing? It was a random thing to do, but I don't hate him being close to me in public...
He stopped when our lips were millimetres apart, and I felt his warm breath on my face.
"I've been worried... That Asuna is trying to take you away from me..." He whispered out, my breath got caught in my throat.
"W-what do you mean?" I replied, Kirito moved a finger up to my lips, quieting me from any further words.
"I should have told you before, but she's been messaging me constantly, inviting me places even though she knows I go out with you every Saturday... she doesn't even choose another day." He said, moving away from me slightly. I saw the sincerity in his eyes, and he was clearly sorry about not telling me sooner.
I grabbed his other hand, holding them both together, and looked towards him.
"Well you've told me now... but why are you worried she's taking me away? It sounds like she's trying to take you from me..." I mumbled out, looking at the ground.
He put a finger under my chin, lifting my face up so we were looking at each other once again.
"I'm not going to let her do that. She's interrupted enough as it is..." Kirito stated, quickly glancing over at Asuna who had stopped with the boy at a random bench.
"Do you know that boy by the way?" I added, looking over the strangers features. He didn't really show his face, it was covered by the hood of his jacket and his hair was dangling over his eyes. His attire was similar to Kirito's; colour wise. Black on black.
I saw Kirito thinking intently, clearly trying to figure out who this boy was. But he looked as lost as me, I just hope that he wasn't dangerous.
"I'm not sure... but for some reason I don't like him, that's why I asked you to keep your distance." He said, finally revealing the answer I wanted to know.
"I agree... let's just keep going." I replied, still a bit skeptical from this whole situation.
Kirito obliged and we started to walk again, I occasionally looked behind us to make sure that one of the two wasn't following. I never saw them, they are most likely no danger.

"We're here!" Kirito called out, I looked at to where he was pointing.
It was a small market, there were people all over the place, looking at food, books and clothes. There was also a cathedral which was attracting a lot of tourists to go inside, at first the place seemed a little bland and regular but then Kirito dragged me over to a notice board, pointing enthusiastically at a brightly coloured poster.
"We're staying here all day until the time arrives for this!" He said, I looked at the poster, it read Firework show! 8:00pm - 11:00pm, seats available, costs vary.
My face lit up, I hadn't seen a firework show in years! I always enjoyed seeing all the different colours, shapes and sounds.

It made me feel... happy.

"Kirito... this is a great idea..." I said, my voice quieter than usual. He just smirked at me and crossed his arms.
"I've always been good with these things Eugeo!~ I knew you'd like it." Kirito said confidently, I couldn't help but laugh at him.
Then I pulled him into a hug, wrapping my arms tightly around his waist.
"You really are a dumbass Kirito." I mumbled out, rubbing his back soothingly. Kirito returned the hug, placing a hand on my hair yet again.
"Same to you Eugeo!" He laughed, and I couldn't help but join him.
We probably got a few odd looks from people passing by, but I didn't care right now. Kirito was in my arms, and I loved him so much.
"By the way... we won't be buying seats. I have special ones planned..." I heard Kirito whisper, secretively.
"Oh really?" I said, closing my eyes and enjoying the sweet moment.
I felt him nod, and he twisted my hair slowly.
I heard what I guess was an old women sigh at us, but then she spoke.
"If you two are going to stand there hugging like fags all day you could at least get a room." She said.
I tensed up, the insult hitting me like a bus, why were people so immature and rude, did they really have a problem with people liking the same gender?
Kirito payed no interest, and continued to pet my hair, it comforted me making me realise I wasn't alone.
Other people around the area made comments about the rude woman, they were telling her that what she said was atrocious.
But the strongest here was Kirito.

How is he so brave?
