Y/N and Ikaruga laid spooning on the couch, with Y/N being big spoon. The couple was bored out of their minds, since none of their friends were available, and it was pretty hot that day.

Lifting his nose from Ikaruga's hair, Y/N sighed. "There's... nothing to do." He stated, and Ikaruga pushed against him with her back. "You think so?" She asked lazily. Y/N poked her cheek. "Don't you sass me." He joked, and she smirked. She turned to face him, and connected their lips. It was gentle at first, but as the seconds passed by, it got passionate. Eventually they pulled away for air, and now Y/N was hovering above Ikaruga. Seeing something from above the arm rest of the couch, he got an idea. "How does the idea of fishing strike you?" He asked, and she raised a brow.

"Fishing? Where did that come from?" Ikaruga asked. Y/N stood up from the couch, and walked into the kitchen. There were a few fishing rods of various sizes leaning against the wall, with a clear case full of different lures and baits. "My old man dropped these off a few days ago. Said he didn't need them. Apparently these are what he wants to be the family heirloom." He replied, but she tilted her head. "Isn't your mother's battleaxe the heirloom she passed down to you?" She asked, and he shrugged. "Yeah, but this is my pop's idea of an heirloom." He chuckled, then started inspecting the rods.

"Still in great shape... how about it?" He asked, holding a rod in each hand. Ikaruga shrugged in response. "I suppose it's better than doing nothing..." She replied, then stood up from the couch. Y/N nodded, and the two got dressed appropriately. Y/N put on a pair of black jeans with a F/C T-Shirt, a pair of F/C boat shoes, as well as a black baseball cap. Ikaruga tucked her long, black hair into a neat bun, put on a pair of black running shorts, and a white tank top. "Ready?" Y/N asked, grabbing all the equipment. "Yes. Let's go." Ikaruga replied, and the loaded into the car, and drove off.

-An Hour Later-

Y/N shut the door of the driver's seat, and let out a grunt as he stretched his back. "Can't believe the closest fishing spot was 175 miles away..." He groaned. "Well, we are here now..." Ikaruga replied, stretching her arm above her head. "Whew, that sun is blazing..." He muttered, then went behind the car to the trunk. Grabbing all the stuff they brought, Y/N hauled it all over to a private little deck. Setting the stuff down, he sighed, then fixed his cap. "Alright, let's get started!" He said with conviction, and began preparing. Ikaruga squatted next to him, watching silently as he did his thing. "How do you know what to do?" She asked, and Y/N chuckled. "Well, the old man always wanted me to be his fishing buddy, so when I was young, he taught me the ropes." He explained. She nodded in understanding, and took the rod when he held it in her direction.

"Alright, stand wherever you want, just try not to be too close to the edge." He instructed, and she found a spot that suited her. "Alright, now cast the line using your wrist." He told her, and she attempted to do so. Sweatdropping, she looked at the rod, which still had the bob and sinker not in the water. "Hehe, like this." Y/N chuckled, and stood behind her. Using his hand to guide her arm, he showed her the motion she needed. Blushing slightly, she thanked him, then recreated the motion. Sure enough, the line flew from the rod, and the bob landed in the water. "I-I did it!" Ikaruga cheered, and Y/N pat her on the back. "Sweet. If anything bites, call to me if you need help." He told her, and she nodded.

-Twenty Minutes Later-

Ikaruga rested her hand on her palm, sitting on a cooler the couple had brought. Sighing, she turned to her husband, who was staring daggers at the water. She sighed again, and turned back to the water. She did a double take when she saw a shadow approaching her bob, and she preemptively gulped in anticipation. She felt the line wobble a few times, and gripped the rod tighter. She was yanked slightly forward when the fish tugged, and she stood up to get a better grip on the deck with her footing Y/N turned to the sound of her struggle, and rushed over to help. "It's okay, I got you!" He grunted, wrapping his arms around her stomach to keep her in place.

Y/N had to back up so far that he almost fell backwards into the water, but eventually the two were able to get the fish onto the deck. The two looked at it in amazement. "I-Is it even possible for Japanese fish to get this big?" Ikaruga asked Y/N, who shrugged. "I... I've never seen this either." He replied, and the two looked at each other. "You thinking what I'm thinking?" Y/N asked, grinning. Ikaruga smiled, then nodded.

-The Next Night-

"GRILLED FISH!" Every person present cheered, all gathered around the monstrous amount of fish in numerous containers and plates. Homura picked a few pieces from a bowl onto her plate, then took a bite. She basically tensed up from the explosion of flavor, then sighed after swallowing. "Ooh... It's so yummy..." Asuka mumbled, taking another bite. Ikaruga blushed from all the praise, but turned to Y/N. "All I did was season it. Y/N did the cooking." She tried to explain, but got raised brows. "So? The seasoning is great! And we all know Y/N couldn't salt his french fries properly if he tried." Miyabi laughed, and Y/N got a tick mark. He took a swig from his beer, as did Miyabi, both of their faces turning a little red. "What'd you say, punk?!" He shouted, and the two butt heads, both literally, and metaphorically. "I said... you can't season worth... a damn!" She shouted back, her words slurred. The group laughed at the display, and continued to feast upon the massive amount of fish provided.
