22. Behind closed doors

"Tony" I mumbled as I stood behind him, I noticed him doing something weird with the arc reactor on his chest.

"Coco" he freaked out as he quickly pulled his T-shirt down & turned around.

"What were you doing?" I questioned.

"Uh-nothing" he stammered.

"Tony! I just saw you inserting something inside your chest" I told him.

"It's nothing babe, I just like checking my reactor now & then" he murmured.

"Don't lie" I folded my arms.

"Relax hun, it's nothing" he moved closer.

"Tony! You're acting really weird these days, I just cannot keep up with you" I rolled my eyes as he embraced me "I know running a big company like Stark industries is stressful, you need to relax".

"Tony, please no more surprises" I murmured.

"Okay, I promise" he smiled as he kissed my cheek.

"So, James is coming over for dinner tonight" I reminded him.

"Ahhh...that ass" he chuckled.

"Master chef, go on with your cooking" I smirked as he nodded "of course, Mam" as we walked up the stairs & headed towards the kitchen.

"So, now Tony's cooking?" Rhodey chuckled as Tony set the table.

"And more" I smirked as Rhodey looked at me astonishingly "what more?"

"Walking the dogs, feeding them & even giving them baths" I smiled as Rhodey looked at Tony "I'm impressed, buddy".

"Things I do for love" Tony smiled as he took a seat.

"She keeps you grounded" Rhodey smirked as he dig in "you don't know how she handles me" Tony murmured as I cleared my throat "he don't want to know, Tony".

"Yeah, I'm afraid of the mrs here" Rhodey teased as I rolled my eyes "enough".

"Whenever I talk about marriage or family, that's her response always" Tony said.

"Really?" Rhodey chuckled.

"Stop making this conversation about me" I murmured as Ice & Jerry entered the dinning area with Happy "the kids are here" Tony smiled as they wagged their tails & lay under the table.

"So, when are you guys expecting the third child?" Rhodey grinned as Happy chuckled.

"The third child you're talking about, better be another furry baby" I looked at Rhodey as Tony said "the third & the fourth can be furry babies, and the fifth a princess like you" as all the three men looked at me in a questionable manner.

"We are not having this conversation anymore, people" I said as I excused myself from the table.

"You done, honey?" Tony asked as I nodded "yeah".

"Maybe she's upset about the topic you know" Rhodey murmured as I turned around "I can hear you, lieutenant" as they began to chuckle.

"Happy, what are you doing here at this hour?" I asked as I saw Happy in the kitchen at 6am in the morning "I crashed here last night boss" he smiled a bit as he poured his cup of coffee.

"How many times do I've to tell you, call me Coco" I mumbled as I walked towards the fridge.

"I'm not used to it. You know, you're the boss" he murmured.

"Then get used to it" I smiled a bit as he nodded & sipped his cup of coffee "where's Tony by the way?"

"At his garage, I presume" he said as I rolled my eyes "I've not seen him, since last night".

"After dinner, we parted ways...I had no idea about that" he furrowed his brows.

"If he's working on his suit again, I'm going to go insane" I muttered as I grabbed a bottle of water & walked towards the garage, both Tony & Rhodey were present there so that means even Rhodey had not left since dinner "good morning" I wished them as I walked in.

"Good morning" they both wished me in an uneasy tone as Tony dropped something, he looked at me nervously as I could see a little bit of smog coming out from the little piece of metal on the floor.

"What's that?" I asked as I walked towards them.

"An experiment" Tony mumbled "Yeah" Rhodey joined as I can see the uneasiness in their eyes.

"You guys kidding me?" I folded my arms as silence filled the room.

"Who's hungry?" Tony finally broke the silence as Rhodey raised up just hand "I am".

"Will you guys tell me, what's really going on?" I looked at them as Tony began to chuckle "nothing much, same old, same old".

"Then why that look?" I raised my brows as Tony murmured "are you a friend of Fury now?"

"And who's Fury?" I asked as Tony bit his tongue "what are you men, hiding from me?" I muttered as Rhodey said "you remember agent Coulson, the one who helped Tony months back when that fight between he & Obadiah happened right...he works for Nick Fury".

"Oh I see so, Nick Fury is an agent" I said slowly as Rhodey nodded "and then I guess a week ago right babe, he visited us" I looked at Tony as he murmured "Yeah, but that's not important".

"But he talked about a greater universe & he even handed you his card" I said slowly as Tony looked at me in disbelief "you were spying on me?"

"I learned from the best" I smirked as Tony chuckled "I should say I'm impressed".

"But this is not a compliment, I just want to know what all these means" I said.

"Same here but for now let's head for breakfast, I'm starved" Rhodey said as we both agreed & headed to the kitchen for breakfast.
