“Uhm, yeah.” Maikli niyang sagot. Halata ang awkwardness sa boses niya.

“That's a relief, but the bad thing is, it will leave a scar.” I said when I saw the bandaid on his wound.

Good thing na natatakpan yon ng bangs niya. Hindi siya masiyado halata kapag nasa malayo pero kapag malapitan ay kitang-kita yon.

Tumango-tango ako bilang pagsang-ayon. Well, it's obvious in his messy hair, his puffy eyes that looks like he just woke up and his crumpled shirt. But at the same time he looks cool pero parang pinabayaan. His the only son of the principal but he don't know how to dress well and he's not even wearing a proper school uniform.

“Where's your school uniform?”

“I don't have it yet.” He said. “Uhm, if you excuse me, I still need to find my room.” He added then walk away.

“Hey! Wait! Maybe I can help you!” Sabi ko saka hinabol siya.

Habol-habol ko ang hininga nang makasabay sa kaniya. Ang bilis niyang mag-lakad.

“What are you doing?”

“I said, maybe I can help you finding your room.”

“Thanks but don't bother, I can manage.” He declined.

“No, I insist. As your senior, I will gladly help you. Besides, hindi mo alam ang pasikot-sikot dito sa university hindi katulad ko. Just let me help you. I don't have anything to do after all. Let me accompany you instead.” I said then smiled sweetly to him.

Nanliliit ang mga mata niya at parang naiinis sa kakulitan ko. Hindi ko inalis ang ngiti ko hanggang sa tumango siya saka nagkibit-balikat sa akin.

“Fine.” He said before he gave me the paper that he's holding earlier. It's a... map?

“A map?”

“I told you, I need to find my building and my room.” Mabilis na sagot niya.

“Do you really need a map? As you can see, there's a lable on every building that you can read and that will guide you.” I said then pointed the building infront of us that has a name.

“I know, but I'm bad at directions. Nakakalimutan ko palagi.” He said.

“You're cute while speaking tagalog.” I suddenly said out of nowhere.

I avoid his gaze to hide my red cheeks. What am I doing? Nagkunwari akong tumingin sa map para makaiwas sa tingin niya. Nakakahiya naman yung paraan ng pagkakasabi ko. Jeez.

“Baliktad.” Napaligon ako sa kaniya nang magsalita siya.

“Huh?”

“Baliktad yung pagkakahawak mo.” He said then pointed the map that I'm holding using his lips.

“Oh, sorry.” Dali-dali ko yung inayos saka pinakalma ang sarili.
