Chapter Twenty-Four

Tears were streaming down my face I couldn't hear anymore. Boy did I know how it feel to not be loved to be misused.

What Chris had told me floated around in my head like a broken record. How could a mother do that? How could she not cherish that baby she was blessed with. How could she?

Cassidy deserves a mommy because the one god gave her wasn't shit. How could someone put a baby through the things Cassidy has went through?

She's only five!

With this going through my mind I got up from my seat on the couch and ran up stairs. Well I walked as fast as I could with the stitches.

"Ariane!", Chris yelled after me. He knew what I was going to do I stayed quiet for days going through the things I would say to her.

I ran up those stairs quickly only thing going through my mind was that Cassidy needed a mommy.

I basically barged into the room. I seen her flat screen on and seen she had been watching some show where some one had hung there self with a nexus. I looked around the room for her and she was gone. Chris had just checked on her not that long ago.

Panic sat in.

"Cassidy", I called out loudly as I looked around the room.

"CASSIDY", I yelled scared. I looked over at her closet door which was cracked. I ran to it and was going to swing it open when I heard Chris's voice behind me.

"Ariane what's wrong?", Chris asked.

I ignored as I swung the door open and landed eyes on Cassidy with a belt tightly around her neck and a stool which had been knocked down. Did she? I gasped as tears slid down my face uncontrollably. I ran to her side unwrapping the belt from her neck. Chris ran in after me seeing Cassidy lifeless. This is no sight for him.

He was stuck in place. Froze couldn't move wouldn't move. I then remember how broken he was down stairs a few days back. How much he loves this girl I'm holding in my arms. I couldn't let her go I wouldn't , , it's not her time. So taking all the things I learned in my CNA classes about how to find a pulse and do CPR.

I went to Cassidy's aid. I found a small pulse it was very faint but it let me know she was still here that she still had life in her. It's like everything about CPR came back to me all at once.

I grabbed Cassidy up and performed CPR.

"Come on Cassidy", I cried as I pushed down on her chest.

I blew into her mouth. Push on her chest more until I heard her gasp. She was back, I did it.

"Cassidy!", I exclaimed.

She looked at me blinking a lot. Before she breathed.

"Mama", she said before she looked behind me. "Daddy", she said happily.

Then after those words flew out her mouth she fainted.

"Chris call the ambulance", I yelled tears of joy flying out my eyes.
