C H A P T E R 31

Has anyone been on a...brisk walk before? Well, I honestly felt like doing it and coming up with a lie that was to say, "I'm doing this for better health and now I'm going to run away from you". You might be wondering why I am having the urge to run away right now, but maybe it's too obvious to answer this question and if you don't know, it's because of the guy next to me, who goes by the name Officer Nathaniel DeAngelis.

He has to be one of the most notorious officers out there and I know that it's not my decision to make, but if it was, then I think he should be bumped up to being an Agent because of how awkward he is and how uncomfortable he could make you. When I say awkward, I mean that he can make the situation awkward as fuck and he would have this smile on his face because he knows.

'She's coming out of the hospital.' I froze in my steps. Well, that's one way to break the prolonged silence that we had. Nate stopped too and turned half of his body towards me. 'I know, I know it's not what you want to hear because I'm pretty sure that living with your boyfriend is great, but you needed to know this, just in case Social Services come.' Those two words caught my attention, so did boyfriend, but Social Services was the thing that scared me.

'Are they going to take Joey away from me? I mean, us. Are they going to take him away from us?' I questioned and this is when Nate sighed. My heart started to beat faster than it has done before and I couldn't stop the nausea that filled my stomach. 'I'm not saying that they are going to take Joey away, I'm saying that there is a possibility that they could contact you or your step father, but they won't take him away.'

'You need two unfit parents to take him away right?' Nate nodded at me, if only he knew what really happened, but then he would have to call Social Services because I'm not at the legal age to adopt Joey or take care of him. I started walking again, doing my best to make sure that I didn't come out as nervous or shaky, but then again, I could lie and say that it was because of the wind.

'I know that you didn't come out here to talk to me about just that.' I said after a couple more minutes of walking. My stomach knotted and I felt this throbbing again from my lady bits as dark spots clouded my vision, as if I was doing something wrong. I heard Nate chuckle then shake his head at me, looking up ahead instead of at me as if he was trying to figure out if he should tell me or not.

'No, no I didn't come to talk to you just about that.' He turned around and walked closer to me and I couldn't help but chuckle at his tactics. 'We could talk here, but then I wouldn't be allowed to talk about everything I want to talk about.' I chuckled once again, shaking my head and getting a little closer to him, but not doing anything else.

'Why don't you take me to your apartment then?' I asked him, looking up at him from under my lashes while there was a smirk on my face, which suggested that we should get down to "business". In an instant, we were in his car and making our way to his house, passing by many houses. It was safe to say that the energy and tension between us was heavy and I couldn't help but feel guilty.

I bit my lip in wonder, looking down at my legs and I could feel Nate's eyes on me, which made me close my legs together a little more. He chuckled at that, but before you knew it, any thoughts about Drew flew out of my mind as soon as we got to the familiar house. The anticipation was too much for the two of us and I think we should consider ourselves lucky that no one was looking out their window at us.

He bent down and kissed me and when I didn't respond to that his, he pulled my head up and wrapped his hand in my hair and then licked my bottom lip as if he wants my permission but I knew that he would get what he wants because he was a dominant person , but surprise, surprise, I was as well and there was no way that he was going to control me throughout this.
