When a brutal reality hits you can see what kind of person someone is. The way they react, cope and grow shows who they are as a person. The people I aspire to be like most are the ones who are still a good person when a brutal reality hits. The people I love most are like that.
I used to tell myself I was strong and brave. That I could handle anything and that I was a good person. But when a brutal reality hits I suppose I'm no more than a weak coward--and perhaps have always been. We can't live in fairytales forever.
