Dancing in the Rain

Rain gently presses against the window panes. The smell of Earth, ever so alive, sneaks in through the door and fills the house. The grass is greener, I can see it through my room. If you were here, I know that I'd be dancing in it with you.

Birds are perched on pine tree branches, singing lovely songs with each other. Raindrops sit on purple petals, with each drop having a glassy reflection of the grey sky. The air is thick, but it is calming.

There is a silence about it all. The silence is a beautiful one. Where covered with drops of water, all is at peace. A serenity of everything. At eight years old you and I learned that, looking forward to every chance of rain where we could be together.

Now, along with the peace, a little sadness buries itself in my heart. I wish you were here because I would love to dance in the rain with you.
