"Okay, is that a good amount of food?" Sebastian asked, looking around at your spread.

"If anything, it's too much, don't worry about it." You smiled, squeezing his arm comfortingly.

For the first time ever, you were organising a New Years Eve party for all your friends based on the realisation of how much you loved the concept of New Years parties in comparison to any other kind. With birthday parties, it's centred around one person and you're required to buy them a gift. With Christmas parties, there is far too much of a plan, usually, and you spend it with your family, including the "auntie" who actually just drinks with your mum on Saturdays and the cousin who you used to babysit and would shit on the rug just to spite you. With house parties, there's a long expanse of night and no indication of when is a good or acceptable time to leave. But New Years Eve parties - casual, but still enough of an occasion to dress up, and you know you can leave pretty much instantly after plunging into the new year. You and Sebastian were holding yours on the roof of your hotel - of course with permission - and the sight of the city around you was somehow the perfect mood setter.

"At least we know we'll have spare food so we don't run out again." Sebastian agreed, trying to straighten his bow tie and managing to untie it altogether. You laughed a little and stepped towards him, redoing the tie carefully and slowly to savour the moment, like some kind of weirdo who felt the need to savour the moment. He was just wearing a suit, but somehow with him, it could never be "just", though you couldn't work out what made him so different. Probably the fact he's a god. You had sat with him in the bathroom for three hours, getting ready together. It started when you dropped your makeup bag and the entire thing exploded on the floor, causing Sebastian to believe someone was trying to kill you and gallantly run in to save you. When he realised you were okay, he said he would stay and keep you company. When you finished with your face, you did his hair for him, though you couldn't actually say you DID anything - you just kinda wanted to touch his hair. It was still wet from the shower he had taken a little before you went in there, so you gave it a run through with your blow dryer and "styled" it. Then, he did yours, with your curling iron. He didn't actually do a bad job, and he was immensely proud of himself.

"We can just live off canapés and grapes until we have to go home." You giggled, smoothing out the tie and standing back to admire your handiwork - to be fair, it was worth admiring. Tying bow ties was your only skill. Sebastian glanced down and smiled, then looked back at you.

"Thank you. You, uh, you look really pretty, by the way." He said, making topplingly intense eye contact.

See, this is the problem with having a crush on him - he makes it far too fucking easy.

"That's really sweet, Sebastian... I don't know how to respond to compliments I'm so sorry oh my God. You look pretty too. Like really pretty." You stammered, smoothing out your dress frantically like that would take attention away from your idiocy and ability to crumble the instant someone validates you.

Sebastian smiled crookedly. That was what got you first. You introduced yourself and he smiled like that and WHAM. Stole your entire fucking heart, just like that. So cruel.

"While we're here," Sebastian said, eyes glinting in the light of the streets down below, "Can I ask if you're gonna get a new years kiss from a certain someone?"

You quirked your eyebrow at him, smiling a little. "I am, I hope."

"Who?"

"See, that I can't actually tell you."

He chuckled.

"What about you? Got your eye on some gorgeous dame-type, ready and raring to be swept off their feet by the one and only Sebastian Stan?" You teased and he blushed furiously, looking at his feet and laughing with you.
