Another Happy Landing (Obi-Wan Kenobi x Reader)

Chapter 5: Senator Amidala

It has been 10 years and Obi and I have been dating is secret.

Anakin who has grown to be a lovely young man, Obi and I have been called in to meet with the Senator Amidala, we will be protecting her as there has been an assassination attempt. As soon as we arrive, we are asked to sit down on the couch opposite the Senator. Anakin is nervous and is sweating. 

"We are here to protect you, Senator, not to start an investigation." I look at Obi shocked at his blunt answer.

"We will find out who's trying to kill you, Padme. I promise you." Anakin says staring into the Senator's eyes.

"We will not exceed our mandate, my young Padawan learner." Obi says to the Padawan.

"I meant that in the interest of protecting her, Master, of course."

I sigh at the two boys arguing. I look at the Senator and smile at her.

"We will not go through this exercise again Anakin, and you will pay attention to (Y/n)'s and my lead."

"Why?"

I look at Anakin, "What?" I question him.

"Why else do you two think we were assigned to her if not to find the killer? Protection is a job for local security, not Jedi. It's overkill, Masters. An investigation is implied in our mandate." Anakin says staring at his Master.

"We will do exactly as the council has instructed. And you will learn your place, young one."

The room falls silent as I rub the back of my neck. Obi turns his attention to the Senator.

"Perhaps with merely your presence... the mystery surrounding this threat will be revealed. Now if you'll excuse me." Padme starts standing, "I will retire."

Us three stand and bow as she walks away.

Everyone has left the room but Jar Jar. Anakin and Jar Jar are talking about something, I hear Obi say, "You're focusing on the negative again, Anakin. Be mindful of your thoughts. She was pleased to see us. Now, let's check the security."

Obi and Anakin start walking as Jar Jar walks in the opposite direction.

"(Y/n)?" I hear Obi call.

I snap out of whatever was happening to me and I catch up with those two.

It has been a few hours, it is now pitch black outside. 

Anakin and I were sitting in the main room where we were greeted. 

Obi walks through the door and takes off his robe, "Captain Typho has more than enough men downstairs. No assassin would try that way. (Y/n), any activity up here?"

"No as quiet as a tomb!" I exclaim with a joyous smile on my face, I watch as Obi's own face softens.

Anakin's voice erupts, "I don't like just waiting here for something to happen to her. 

"What's going on?" I ask.

"Ah, she covered the cameras. I don't think she liked me watching her." Ana kin says looking at the security.

"What is she thinking?" Obi questions walking towards her room. I follow behind him.

"She programmed R2 to warn us if there is an intruder." Anakin says walking towards us.

"There are many ways to kill a Senator." I say looking at Anakin.

"I know, but we also want to catch this assassin, don't we, Masters?"

Oni walks towards Anakin and crosses his arms, "You're using her as bait."

"It was her idea." Anakin rebuts, "Don't worry. No harm will come to her. I can sense everything going on in that room. Trust me."
