Chapter 43: News for the Council

Obi-Wan and I follow Master Yoda out of the Council room, he takes us to a mediation room.

"Questions, I have." Master Yoda says sitting down, "Sit with me."

Obi and I sit down in front of Master Yoda has he shuts his eyes.

"Is everything alright Master?" I ask concern lacing my voice.

"Good, everything is." Master Yoda says opening his eyes, "(Y/n), child, how is it?"

"What do you mean, Master?" I ask the green creature.

"The child?" He repeats himself, "Lie to me, you will not."

"The child?" I ask again, I know what he is talking about but...

"The baby." He says bluntly, "Strong your presence is, be expecting, you have."

"Yes, I am pregnant." I say hanging my head low, I feel Obi-Wan's hand in my shoulder.

"A blessing, it is." Master Yoda says, "Suspicious, the Council is."

"Suspicious?" Obi asks the Master.

"Hrrmm." Master Yoda hums.

"What do you mean by suspicious." I ask him.

"Your pregnancy, it is." He says, "All, that is." He stands up and walks to the door, "Tell Master Windu, you will, but, congratulations."

I watch has he leaves and Obi and I are sitting in this meditation room.

"Don't worry, he knows." Obi suddenly says.

"Who knows?"

"Master Windu."

"How?!"

"It slipped..."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I told him that you had to be home by tonight, I was really worried about you, he asked why and I told him."

"What was his reaction?"

"I'm proud and excited for you (Y/n)." I hear Master Windu say.

"When did you get in here?!" I exclaim shocked.

"Just then, I'm so proud of you both, the Council agrees that you both should stay in the Temple until you give birth."

"I agree." Obi says smiling at me.

"What do you mean? We're in a war?!" I exclaim.

"Don't get angry, it's not good for the baby." Master Windu says smirking.

"Why do we have to stay here?" I ask the Master.

"Because, we want to make sure that you and the baby are safe."

"I understand." I say nodding at him.

"Remember, you're like my daughter to me. I care about you for than you think I do." He says as he leaves the room.

"Let's make these nine months in the Temple the best nine months ever!" He exclaims laughing.

"Yeah, but what could we possibly do?" I ask sitting down and shrugging my shoulders.

"Plenty of thing!" He exclaims chuckling.

"Like what?" I ask laughing.

"A nice stroll around the Temple, research, we can visit Padme. We can do a lot of things." He says.

"Okay, but will Anakin be out on missions while we are here?"

"Probably..."

"What about him and Padme?"

"He can't tell the Council about that! He's going to be expelled!"

"Does Anakin know that I am pregnant?"

"No, he does not."

"Should he know?"

"I don't know, it's depends if you want to tell him."

"I want to tell Padme. But I'm not sure how Anakin will take it..."

"Yeah, me either." He sighs and looks at me, his glare is intense, "How about we have a picnic tomorrow? A good way to start off our nine month holiday!"

"Of course!" I exclaim smiling at him.

"I think we should tell the entire Council." He says rubbing the back of his neck.

"I think so too."

He stands up and he offers me his hand. He helps me up and we head of to the Council room.

Once we get there Obi knocks on the door and it opens. I look inside and see all of the Masters sitting in their usual spots.

"What's the matter (Y/n)?" Master Windu says giving me a knowing smile.

"We have a very special announcement for the Council." I say smiling at Obi and the Council.

"Well?" Master Mundi says looking at us with interest.

I look up at Obi and he rolls his eyes. "I have to say it don't I?"

"Of course!" I exclaim laughing.

"Well, about a week ago, (Y/n) told me some wonderful news." He pauses and looks down at me smiling. "She is pregnant."

The Council then starts to clap and cheer.
"Congratulations!" They call exclaim clapping and whistling.

"You will be staying here with Obi-Wan for the nine months, and then once you have given birth you will resume missions, of course we will give you breaks to take care of your child." Master Windu says smiling, "I am so proud of you both."

"Thank you." I say smiling
