Chapter 33: Experiment

It's been two months since Obi asked me to marry him, things have been going well, although...

"Lady (Y/n), we want you to go to Tatooine, bring a squad with you and another Jedi. Master Kenobi, you are to go the opposite direction with a squad and another Jedi also."

"Master Windu-" I say putting my hand out

"We want to see if you are still bonded even after being engaged. We will do the same thing once you two get married." He says rubbing his chin, "Is that clear?"

I look at Obi who looks worried. I stand up and walk to the middle of the circle of Jedi Masters, "You all want to risk this?"

I look at Plo, Kit, Unduli and around at the other Masters.

"I am interested in how far Master Qui-Gon bonded you for." Master Plo Koon says, "But I do not know if this far is a distance is necessary..."

"If they are still bonded, we will know before it is too late, that is why you will both have a team and keep contact with the command center. If they are not bonded, they will reach their destinations and come back swiftly." Master Windu says, "This is the only way to figure this mystery out."

I look at Obi and I bow, "Of course."

"You can't be serious!" Obi exclaims standing up, "This is ridiculous! You want me to risk (Y/n)'s and my own life for your experiment!?"

"Obi... clam down..." I say holding onto his shoulder.

I feel him take three deep breaths before looking at me. He turns to the Masters and bow, "Sorry for my outburst."

We walk out of the room and towards ours, "We leave tomorrow, get a good sleep Obi."

"Yes, yes, I'm just really worried about you. Who will you be taking?" He asks as we walk into our quarters.

"Ahsoka." I say smiling.

"Ahsoka?! You're best off taking two Padawan!" He exclaims sitting on the bed.

"What's wrong with Ahsoka?"

"Believe me, I trust her, she'll make a wonderful Jedi but, she's a Padawan..."

"Who will you be taking then?"

"I was going to take either Anakin or Master Koon." He sighs, "I assumed you were going to take Master Luminara. You are friends..."

"Yes." I say talking my night clothing out of the dresser, "But I think it's good training for Ahsoka. Awareness..."

"Whatever you say."

I wake up in the morning and get changed. As I walk out of the bathroom I see Obi laying on the bed, he is using one arm his hold up his head.

"Took you a while, we leave in 30 minutes." I say walking over to the man. "What's wrong?"

"This mission." He says simply, "Whatever Master Windu tells you, do not go into hyperspace, no matter what!"

"I wasn't planning to, I'm going to get Ahsoka and Hawk. I'll meet you at the docking bay." I stand up but Obi pulls me back down, "Obi!"

He kisses my forehead and smiles, "I'll see you back here, same and sound."

"Of course!"

I'm waiting at the docking bay with Ahsoka, Hawk and his squadron. Master Windu walks up to me, "Thought it was best that you and Obi-Wan did not see each other before leaving."

He passes me and Ahsoka both a ComLink. "This is for emergencies, your ship will be in contact with the command center at all times."

I nod and walk over to the ship, "See you when I get back." I bow and walk into the ship.

"To Tatooine!!" Ahsoka exclaims getting into the pilots ship.

"Don't get to excited Ahsoka. This is also training!" I exclaim laughing at the Padawan, "Awareness is a very important skill a Jedi needs to have."

"Yes, I know, Master" she sighs as I giggle at her comment.

We sit the ship to auto pilot. Ahsoka, Hawk and I are sitting in the cockpit. Talking about random stuff that comes to mind.

"Hawk, at ease!" I exclaim laughing, "Always at ease with me."

"If you say so..." He replies rubbing the back of his neck.

I feel and but I sensation in my chest. I grip the fabric around my heart and shut my eyes, "Contact Obi-Wan."

"General Kenobi! Come in!"

"Ahsoka? It's me Anakin, Obi-Wan is having issues!" I hear Anakin exclaim.

"Well so is his fiancé!"

"Get back to Coruscant, immediately!" I hear Master Windu exclaim before everything goes black.

The last thing I though. I told you so...
