When nightfall came, Mina didn't know how to act. Sana was walking in front of her, dragging her along through the dimly lit paths of their town. There was loud talking, some kids firing fireworks and having a huge festival.

"Where are you taking me?" Mina asked her.

"To my hiding spot during these giant parties." Sana smiled at her. "It can get really obnoxious."

The two continued their way through the crowds, Sana effortlessly leading the omega through. She stopped at an older building, pushing the door open and letting Mina enter first. She led her up the stairs to the second floor, a little hideaway clubhouse was decorated.

"Oh." Mina chuckled.

"I know... I have little hideaways.. I just... Sometimes people are too much." She sighed while sitting in one of the chairs.

"I get it." Mina agreed, walking over to her. Sana held her hand, pulling her onto her lap.

"I know it's only your first day, but are you having fun?" She asked.

"Mhm." Mina smiled. "What's the festival for?" She asked while looking out the giant broken window.

"First day of the summer sun celebration. It goes on until the summer solstice." Sana explained.

"That's not until next week..." Mina mumbled.

"Exactly. We party for a full week." She chuckled. "Only when the sun starts to set really. Kids light fireworks, elders tell stories about how our ancestors used the sun and stars to guide them." She shrugged. Mina nodded, loving the fact that this culture was so different.

They stayed in silence, both of them enjoying the other's company. More fireworks had gone off, Mina jumping slightly at the sudden noise. Sana pulled her closer, smiling at her reactions. It wasn't long before they heard footsteps, both of them turning to see Momo walking up with two children.

"Were they afraid?" Sana asked her.

"Yup." Momo sighed. She sat on the floor with one child, the other staring at Sana and Mina. "It's not nice to stare." Momo warned the boy.

"You smell different." He pointed at Mina.

"Rei!" Momo growled trying to pull him back.

"No, in good way." He frowned while approaching her. Sana let out a small growl as he approached, causing him to flinch. Mina let out a low warning growl at Sana, holding out her hand for the boy. Momo let out a small laugh, holding the other kid in her lap.

"Come here." Mina set the boy on her lap, holding him when the fireworks went off again. The little boy curled in her lap, content with his new safety. He let out a little noise, causing Mina to tilt her head at him.

"High alpha children purr." Momo answered her silent question. "It calms them." She smiled.

"Did you purr?" Mina smirked at Sana.

"Never." She scoffed.

"Liar. She still purrs." Momo pointed. "And she was the loudest." She laughed.

Sana growled, letting out a huff and turned away from her sister. Mina couldn't help but laugh. She knew Sana had a soft side to her. She just didn't know how soft it was.

After the festivities were over, Momo carried both children back to their living quarters while Mina and Sana stayed behind.

"I didn't think you liked kids that much." Sana sighed.

"I do. They're cute." Mina shrugged her shoulders, relaxing into Sana's embrace. She smiled, pressing her lips against Mina's temple. Sana was absolutely in love with this girl. There was no denying it.

The two walked back to their living quarters, not giving a slight care in the world. The only thing that mattered to them was each other.

"You know, my elder probably expects a lot from you..." Sana frowned. "But I honestly think... You're already perfect." She smiled.

"Stop. You're making me blush." Mina turned away from the alpha, shying away from her compliment. Sana pulled her closer, chuckling at Mina's reactions.

"I mean it." She whispered.

"I love you." Mina looked up at her, seeing a shocked expression go across her face.

"I love you too." Sana whispered after a short period of silence. She pressed her lips against Mina's, a new feeling overcoming the both of them.

Sana woke up the next morning feeling exhausted, but when she thought back to the night events, she couldn't help but smile. She looked over to see a still sleeping Mina, a fresh, still healing, mate mark on her neck.

She left the bedroom, walking down the hall to the kitchen. Momo sat at the table, silently eating her breakfast as her sister rummaged through the fridge.

"You mated her last night?" Momo asked, mouthful of strawberries. Sana shut the fridge door and looked at her sister. "I heard you both." She smirked.

"No you didn't." Sana mumbled.

"Yes I did. My only question is how when she wasn't in heat." She shrugged.

"You can still do things Momo. Did you not go to any of the biology classes in school?" Sana chuckled. "Heat only increases the chances of pregnancy. Any time else is fine." She explained. Momo shrugged her shoulders, throwing another strawberry in her mouth.

"So now that's done you'll stop doing the—!" Momo laughed and was cut off trying to dodge an apple being thrown at her head.

"Stop talking!!" Sana grabbed a replacement fruit from the bowl and ran back to her room. Mina was still asleep when she arrived back inside. She couldn't help but smile at the omega. Her omega. She set the two apples on the nightstand next to her bed before climbing back into the bed. "Mina..." Sana whispered.

"Mm..?" She stirred slightly in her sleep

"It's time to wake up." Sana purred. A smile appeared on her face, eyes slowly opening. "Hey sleepyhead." She chuckled.

"Morning." Mina mumbled. "What time is it?" She yawned.

"Eight." Sana replied, glancing over to check the clock.

"So early." She groaned.

"I know.. But I have to meet the elders and help draft a new peace treaty." Sana sighed. "I just wanted to see you before I left." Mina gave her a pout, moving slightly but winced in the process. "Be careful Minguin." Sana chuckled. "It'll need time to heal."

"I never in a thousand life times thought I'd ever be mated." Mina admitted in a small voice. "I'm glad it's with you."
