JILY - AN UNEXPECTED RETURN

20. The Shopping Trip - 1

PREVIOUSLY ON JILY RETURNS
The Marauders show Harry his room and leaves him to get to know more about the space he's going to stay until he turns 17.

Harry started to unpack his trunk by getting all of his books out. He had thankfully kept all of his books from first year through fourth year knowing that he might need it to study for his O.W.Ls (He too loved reading just like how Lily did). He hadn't noticed his mum and grandmum standing at his room's doorway. He set the books subject wise in the correct order (That is, 1 through 4).

Then he moved on to his clothes. That's when the two ladies interjected. "Don't bother putting them into the closet. They are way too big for you. They're only fit to be wash cloths." Said Lily. His grandmum added "We'll be going shopping today to get you a bunch of clothes that fit you. I hope we go to shop in the Muggle world today. I've always wanted to go there to see what kind of fashion they have. What do you say, Lily dear?" "Yes, Of Course mum. James and I, along with Marlene and Dorcas, need to get a bunch of clothes anyway."

"Ok mum and gran. When are we leaving?" asked Harry as he wanted to spend more time with his family. "If you want, we can leave in 30 minutes." Answered Gran. "Ok. But there's one difficult task in hand. How are you going to convince Dad, Papa, Sirius and Remus into this? I know that Dorcas and Marlene will agree." "Don't worry about that. We have our ways. You focus on getting ready, okay? Meet us near the front door once you're done."

Harry nodded and took a pair of jeans and a T – Shirt that actually fit and went into the bathroom. "You'll find clean towels in the cupboard, sweetheart" his grandmum told him and gave him a kiss on his temple and left the room to convince a certain patriarch to go shopping.

Time skip to meeting near the front door,

"Is it really necessary to go on a shopping spree right now, Lily?" groaned James as he made his way to the front door. "Yes James. If you didn't notice, none of us have proper clothes as most of us were dead, Sirius was in Azkaban and Remus refused to take the money we gave to help him." Deadpanned Lily. They were welcomed to the sight of their son Harry talking to his grandparents about something.

Harry's grandfather spoke to him as he checked through his wallet to make sure he had enough space to stow the muggle money in. "Harry, you'll have to help us out with the muggle money. I do have my personal credit card to use. But in case there are any instances, I don't want to risk it." "Yes papa. I'll help you out with it. Don't worry. And both of you look really very good in muggle clothing, by the way." Said Harry. "Thank you dear." Replied his grandmum to his praise.

They saw Lily and James come towards them and saw Sirius and the rest of them not very far behind. "Is everyone ready to leave?" asked Charlus Potter. Everyone nodded. "Okay everyone! First stop after Gringotts, we go to Madam Malkins and get a few casual and formal robes. And then we go to the muggle world to shop. We'll floo to the Leaky Cauldron and meet there." Saying so, He went through a door that leads to the floo room. He grabbed a fistful of floo powder and spoke "Leaky Cauldron" while tossing the powder.
