The book lists arrived about two weeks after the OWLs results came in. Everyone were excited to go to Diagon Alley for buying their books. Harry's letter contained the following list of books that he required to buy for the subjects he was taking.

The DA members who were residing in Potter Castle were greeted by their parents entering the dining hall during breakfast. They decided to visit Diagon Alley for buying their books that day itself. So, everyone ate their breakfasts quite quickly and got ready to leave. Sirius, Marlene, Remus and Dorcas too decided to go along with the student group and help them buy their things.
