Harry informs Ron, the twins, Ginny, Hermione and Neville about the study group.

The group scrambled on to one of the carriages and made their way to the great hall once they reached the castle. They met a girl named Luna Lovegood, a Ravenclaw in Ginny's year when they were in the carriage.
They got to know that Flitwick was the new deputy as McGonagall was the headmistress. There was also a new teacher dressed in pink sitting in the chair that was meant to be occupied by the DADA teacher.
Minerva reminded everyone that the forbidden forest was forbidden for all students and told them that the list of forbidden things can be found on the notice board outside Filch's office.
Just then announced "I welcome Miss Dolores Umbridge as a member of our faculty. She has agreed to take up the post of the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher." Before she could continue on, she was interrupted by the new teacher. "Hem-Hem! Thank you, Headmistress, for those kind words of welcome. And how lovely to see all your bright happy faces smiling up at me [No one smiles]. I'm sure we're all going to be very good friends."
"Oh, we will as long as we don't have to borrow that hideous pink cardigan of hers" said Lavender Brown to Parvati Patil as they snickered. "Thank you Professor Umbridge, that really was most illuminating." Told Headmistress McGonagall.
She turned towards the students and continued her announcements "And for transfiguration, please welcome Professor Anita Kashyap, who'll also be the Head of Gryffindor house from now on." She went back to her seat after the food appeared and the silence in the hall was broken when cutlery started clanking against each other and students broke into a loose chatter.
After the feast, Harry informed his friends that he's been called by McGonagall about the group and went to meet her after taking note of the password to the Gryffindor tower (Mimbleous Mimbletonia) from Hermione.
