You and Anakin Skywalker built the Jedi Order up from nothing after Palpatine destroyed it, murdering the other members of the council. Palpatine was at his strongest, and he had tried to convince you and Anakin to join him on the Dark Side. You both promised each other that you'd stay loyal to the Jedi, and after a few years, you had finally gotten the support of some political leaders. It took a lot of sacrifices to get there, though.

In order to please Naboo's senator, Volid Trifeen, and get Naboo on your side, Anakin got engaged to Trifeen's daughter, Fianna. She was smart, likeable, and one of the most gorgeous people you had ever seen, so you weren't surprised when Anakin agreed to the marriage in order to gain Naboo's support.

What did surprise you both, however, was the way you fell extremely hard for one another during the months after the engagement.

Perhaps it was because it was the first time you had seen Anakin with someone else, and that had unlocked some deep feelings you kept locked away. Whatever it was, you were both aware of the mutual love that had grown between you, which led to a strain on your relationship.

"Do you really have to marry her?" You asked him one day as you flew back to Coruscant after a meeting with the Trifeen family.

He was sitting in the co-pilot seat and watching you drive, a frown growing on his face. "We need Naboo's correspondence, now more than ever. The Sith will only continue to grow stronger, and when they attack we'll need all the help we can get."

You let out a sigh. "Anakin, we made a vow to restore the Jedi Order to what it was all those years ago, perfect and proper. Jedi Masters don't get married and have children; it's preposterous!"

"Where was all of this when Trifeen first came to us with the proposal?" Anakin asked, his voice slightly raised. "I seem to recall that you were the one convincing me to say yes."

"Maybe I rethought my decision," You said, desperate to find any excuse for him not to go through with the marriage. "Besides, having a wife will only distract you from the Council. How are we to take down the Sith when your mind isn't fully focused?"

"You don't need to worry about my mind, Y/N," Anakin uttered gravely. "I'm not a child. I can restore the Order no matter how big of a distraction you may believe Fianna will act as."

"We have Bespin on our side, Geonosis, Alderaan," You were clutching at straws now. "Naboo isn't necessary to our plans."

"Having resources is very necessary, Y/N," Anger dripped from his words. "Having an army is one thing; Trifeen can supply us with an arsenal of weapons and ammo."

"At what cost?" You yelled, frustrated at having to hide your feelings. "You're signing your life away to this woman who you have no feelings for-"

"Who says I have no feelings for her?" Anakin asked, immediately shutting you up.

You looked over at him, your narrowed eyes meeting his. He knew exactly how you felt; he just wanted you to say it. "So you're in love with Fianna?"

He scoffed and shook his head, his jaw clenching. "You know exactly how I feel about who, and don't try to act any different."

"Then don't marry her," Your voice was quiet, your heartbeat fast.

There was some silence before he replied. "You know I can't do that, Y/N."
