"Anakin, will you help me with these lights? They keep coming down," You called out from the top of the ladder as you attempted to hang up the string lights onto the wall above the fireplace.

"I think I'd rather just watch you do it," He replied from behind you, making you roll your eyes. You could hear the smirk in his voice, and practically feel the burn of his arrogance as he watched you struggle.

"As soon as I'm done with these damn lights, I'm gonna come down and cut your choobies off," You grumbled, using the tape to stick the lights down. Just as you were finally done, you lost your balance and fell backwards, letting out a yell before landing in Anakin's arms. Before he could say anything, you covered his mouth, huffing. "Don't even try it today, Skywalker. I meant what I said about your choobies!"

He let you down before chuckling, "You are way too stressed out right now. Have a drink, and relax."

"Relax?" You asked him with wide eyes. "Anakin, they're gonna be here any minute!"

"And we're ready for them," He countered, holding up his hands.

You snorted, "You think you're ready for my dad? After eloping with his youngest daughter, you think you're ready for my dad?"

"How bad could the guy be?" Anakin asked with a shrug as he sat down on the couch. "I mean, he raised you, didn't he?"

"He raised me to be a Sith sympathizer, Anakin, and I married a Jedi," You said, before realising just how badly this evening was about to go. "He's gonna kill you."

"You said yourself that he's past that," Anakin said, standing up and taking your hands in his. "Sure, it might be a little difficult to find some common ground with the man, but I'm sure tonight will be fine."

"Am I an idiot for introducing you to my family on Life Day?" You asked, frowning up at him. "Am I an idiot for possibly ruining our first Life Day together as husband and wife?"

Anakin laughed, "You are absolutely not. It's a good chance for everyone to meet while we're all in a festive mood. You just need to stay cool."

"Cool. I can be cool," You said with a nod. "Cool as a dead star."

"That's my girl," He said with a wink and a smile that calmed you down, making you think everything was going to be okay. His eyes moved down to your hand before he frowned, "You're not wearing your-"

There was a knock at the door, making your heart drop. "Kill me. I'm not joking, Anakin, throttle me to the point of near death and then throw me off a cliff."

"What happened to being cool?" He asked while moving over to the door, your heart pounding with every step he took. You had to look away when he opened it, but you immediately sighed with relief when you heard Obi-Wan's voice.

"Happy Life Day, brother!" He exclaimed before pulling Anakin into a hug, as you attempted to slow down your breaths.

"Happy Life Day, Obi-Wan," Anakin replied, before letting him enter.

Behind him, Satine looked radiant in a long red dress, her eyes bright. "Happy Life Day to you both!"

You grinned before rushing over and hugging her, while Anakin closed the door. "I'm so glad you came - tonight would have been an even bigger disaster if you guys weren't here."

"Of course we came," Obi-Wan said with a warm smile before hugging you tightly. "When are your family arriving?"

"Hopefully never," You grumbled before pulling away. "I'm scared they won't get along with Anakin."
