Cindy's POV
Miss Lena, our gym teacher was making everyone form a line, boys separate, girls separate, I hate boy and girl competitions
Every time, my boy partner always flirts with me, instead of working and we end up losing.
I stand still till they are lined up, then Amelia and I silently join the line, that's when I look at my partner, shit
I groan as I see Vincent and he laughs
"You know, shortcake, any girl will kill to be in your position right now" he says smirking
"Well sorry to disappoint you but I'm not any girl, I'm a freaking princess" I say, flipping my hair and he chuckles.
"I can see that, spitfire"
"How many names do you have for me?"
"You'd be surprised how many" he says and I ignore him, I look at the boys line and I notice that the five are on a straight line following each other, Drake's first, then Danny, then Ryan, Jake and Vincent
Amelia's in front of me, next to Jake and she's squealing, trying really hard not to burst.
"Your friend seems giddy" Vincent says gesturing to Amelia and I shrug
"Amelia, tone it down a notch would ya?" I whisper and Jake chuckles, she immediately turns beetroot red.
"Ok guys, we're doing a multi course competition this is how it goes, you're partners with the person beside you, the girls do a race, stop at the red flag, then give their boy partner the ball at the end of the track, the boys collect the ball, run and throw it in the loop, then the girls run to the blue flag, get on their partners back and the first duo to get to the finish line are the winners." Miss Lena explains
That's when I notice the track lines and flags and balls, I notice China, switch with the girl beside Ryan and I roll my eyes, I notice he does the same and I laugh a little
"That girl is as desperate as a monkey is for a banana" Vincent says
"Well she's clearly a monkey and is desperate for his banana " I state without thinking and Vincent laughs, while Jake and Amelia awkwardly cough.
I immediately turn red
"Never knew you had a dirty mouth" Vincent teases
"I don't"
"Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night" he said, smirking
"I hope you can throw a ball in a net" I ask
"Shortcake, do you even go to this school?" He asks
"Duh" Oh, yeah! Ryan, Vincent and Jake are in the basketball team
"Then you should know that I'm the second best in the basketball team"
"Who's first" I ask, even though i already know the answer
"Who else but the guru himself, Fox"
"Figures"
"C'mon everyone, it's time, chop chop, girls to the track, boys to your places!" Miss Lena says and blows her whistle
I take a deep breath and run, I'm in the lead, I get to the flag first, hand the ball to Vincent he throws it in the loop, first shot, he's good, I quickly run to him as I see China hand Ryan the ball, I get on his back and he runs, Ryan and China, following closely behind us
