Crybaby x Ben part 2

ben shows crybaby around his neighborhood but a lot has changed since he was enrolled in the sleep-away school right around sixth grade. he hated that he had to leave so much behind but he also felt that it would be a great opportunity to explore outside his hometown.

"welcome to my neighborhood. we're kinda like one big family when it comes down to it." ben says to crybaby as he shows her around

she looks around and sees kids riding on bikes laughing. they were trying to outsmart an owner of a store and so far it was working. she sees people selling CDs out of their cars for money and also sees people crowding outside a movie theater. there was so much about the world that she didn't know and today she was gonna explore whatever she could. she smells BBQ and sees that a guy in an apron that says respect the chef was grilling ribs outside for a line of people.

"hey who's that?" crybaby asks ben as she points to the guy at the grill

"oh that's mr ray. he owns the BBQ joint. it's literally named after him so it's pretty hard to forget who he is." ben says smiling

there's a bunch of kids by the BBQ joint with skateboards and mr ray was trying to get them away from his place before they break something doing a trick of theirs.

"okay I'ma do a 360 rail challenge." a boy with a skateboard says as he begins to do the trick. he jumps on the rail and tries to stay on it without falling off the board. that totally backfired though. he fell off the board and it went flying through the air hitting mr ray in the face. he groans in pain and ppl take him inside to get some ice. the skateboarders are shocked but they end up running off.

"that had to hurt." crybaby says as she puts her hand over her mouth

"well this is gonna turn everything around. since when did mr ray's BBQ joint turn into a skatepark?" ben says

"don't they have a bunch of skateparks around here?" crybaby asks

"well they do but some of them were shut down for some type of renovation. also from what I've heard, connor took over some of them with his crew. i can't stand that guy. he acts like he owns everything around here." ben says looking upset

"who's connor?" crybaby asks

"he's the boy that i attacked on the soccer field when i was nine. yeah he held that against me for a long time. he swore he'd get his revenge on me but it never happened." ben explains

"sounds like he really has it out for you." crybaby says

"yeah but whatever. whatever he throws at me, I'll be ready for it." he says

they end up walking to a park where they see rudy kicking a soccer ball around by himself. he liked to be there just to get away from home even if it was for a little while. crybaby and ben sit on the swing while swinging back and forth slowly. you can hear the chains from the swings squeaking.

"wow the clouds are beautiful. ya know it's pretty fun up there. it's very peaceful." she says smiling while looking at the clouds

"I don't know if i should ask but I'm going to anyway. how would you possibly know that?" ben says

"on our first day of kindergarten, our bus crashed into a lake so me and angelita had to get the bus out of the lake with our powers or everyone probably would've drowned. we ended up all the way in the clouds and we could've stayed up there forever." she says while her eyes light up

"you really are an interesting girl crybaby." he says as he reaches his hand out to her. she grabs it and giggles.

"I've been called a monster and a freak but never interesting." she says
